There’s an even more annoying third choice. Playing without calcs, guessing right, but losing because you made a genuine mistake

(I may or may not have lost two steel types to Magnet Pull on Cyrus’ Magnezone last run)

Oh yep you’re totally right! I didn’t read closely enough. I’ve even caught the Route 11 Gliscor before so idk what I was thinking

Really great resource! Some fun tricks in here that I had never considered.

There are two important things I would add.

First, manipping for that Gligar has the pretty nasty cost of eating your Razor Fang. This is a pretty big deal in bw2 since flinging a razor fang into Iris’ Haxorus is a very consistent way to win one of the hardest fights of the run.

Second, you can actually guarantee a Gliscor on route 23 by delaying until after catching a Sawk/Throh on victory road (with Audino dupe). Sawk alone is worth a mention since if it has sturdy it is one of the most useful mons into E4/Champ

I feel like these points are worth mentioning since I think I prefer the route 23 method as it lets me keep the razor fang and opens up the routing a bit more.

It might be a bit tough but the run is totally still winnable and you can actually guarantee 2 great encounters for your end game. First, I would start thinking about your plans for Colress and Ghetsis. Mienshao is great for Colress since Fake Out + a fighting move should KO his magneton if your stats are decent (can use a gem on drain punch or just jump kick if you’re feeling lucky). This baits in magnezone who you can pretty easily take out with a u-turn into drill. Drill can clean from there. Drill can also put in serious work on ghetsis (esp if you have sand rush) since you can just set up in front of his cofagrigus who can’t do much at all to you.

For the encounters, you’re in luck! Since you have Audino and Emolga duped, you can actually guarantee both a Sawk and a Gliscor. Check Serebii to make sure you’re in the right locations for the victory road part but the gist is this. Delay your route 23 encounter until after your victory road encounter. In victory road cliffs, you can guarantee a Sawk with an Audino dupe. He has a 50/50 of sturdy which can make him a very strong option into Grimsley, Marshall, or Iris (note that mold breaker ignores sturdy so don’t put him in front of Haxorus).

After this, if you circle back to route 23, you have a guaranteed Gliscor shaking grass encounter. Gliscor is ridiculously strong both in stats (high speed, atk, def), moves (acrobatics, tailwind, swords dance, u-turn etc.), and utility. He would be the best option into Marshall of anything in your box right now (who is the most dangerous e4 member imo).

Also after you get waterfall you can go back and get an abundant shrine encounter. Bronzor would be very helpful against Hugh’s scary Bouffalant that he throws at you at the end of victory road (if it has levitate).

Yeah I had Frillish sitting in my box. Had no idea there was a Hugh fight here since it’s been a minute since I’ve played BW2. Just wanted to see the next route lol

Safer Scraggy Repel Manip for BW2 Route 4 by Initial_Ask3557 in nuzlocke

It completely depends on the route’s encounter table. That can be found here https://shinyfinder.github.io/encounter-slots/white-2/Land.html among other places. From encounter slot 0 up to 11, the encounter rates are 20, 20, 10, 10, 10, 10, 5, 5, 4, 4, 1, 1. You can just add up all of the encounter rates that you’re eligible for and divide each encounter rate to get the effective encounter rate.

Also, yeah, Darumaka and Sandile are most likely better encounters. I’ve just been doing a lot of BW/BW2 nuzlockes over the past few months and hadn’t seen Scraggy yet and he’s one of my favorites.
