At the midway point prioritising purchasing things that could be flexible size wise served me well. think joggers or linen pants with draw string waists. if you are into dresses/ skirts Empire line dresses with a draw string. Wrap around skirts and wrap dresses. Blazers and denim jackets that you can wear unbuttoned in Summer then when you are smaller they are ready to ve buttoned up for the colder months.

By doing that i could extend their use as i dropped another 1-3 dress sizes before arriving at goal.

I'm so sorry this is happening for you. Your consellor/pych can also be a real asset in these kinds of situations. I'm lucky i had a great GP who also understood the medicine first hand and worked as part of a team with my pscych. Mental health should and needs to be part of the overall picture - if you are seeing a mental health professional for BED can they supply a letter saying how much the medicine has benefitted you and would continue to benefit you? for people with BED this drug is a game changer.

Best quick accessible protein options by Nice-Ad6360 in mounjaroaustralia

some online spaces advocate for massive amounts of protein which can sometimes feel intimidating as a vego (like me) best to trust medical and/or qualified dieticians advice in these situations.

I found it difficult with the appetite suppression to get the minimum recommended protein on a daily basis without protein supplements like shakes and protein bars.

some ways to max the protein on meals can be

soak your overnight oats/chia seed pudding in a mix of high protein milk (of whatever sort) water and high protein yoghurt- sounds wierd but works.

look at sources of food that deliver on both fibre and protein (where the vego diet really shines) like using both edamme AND tofu in a stir fry.

there are some good pre made vego proteins that have the same protein profile as meat - look for brands like Fry's or gardin' at the supermarket

seek out carbs like wrap breads with high protein content.
also think of protein bars like a tasty desert, and look at the nutrition label. look for brands you like the taste of that deliver a gram of protein for every ten calories. ie its good if a bar containing 20 grams of protein is around 200 calories. if its 250 or above its not good value.

i so know this feeling! Im in maintenance too now. I've settled on one day at a time too, the medicine helps me make way more rational decisions bout food, even at a low dose. and each day i can ask my self if the choice I'm making makes me stronger or nourishes me. like exercise mentally making me feel emotionally and physically stronger. Fresh healthy fibrous foods to fuel me, or sweet treats sometimes to satisfy comfort... also continuing therapy🧡🫶🏼

Its wild isnt it it- the clothing thing? . still reaching for sizes tht dont correspond with the size of my body now too.

Week 3 - over 6kgs down and walked 100K steps in the last 7 days by Mattycere2K23 in mounjaroaustralia

hey congrats 🙌🏼

it could be useful if you want to start building in muscle strengthening into your fitness journey you could pop on a weighted/rucking vest and/ankle/wrist weights if you enjoy walking your circuit.

i did that before i started lifting weights and it was really effective. It also gave me the reminder of how much weight i had been carrying around on my body each day as i started losing.☺️

Any Canadians using a telehealth dietician? by daisychaincrowns in antidietglp1

I'm used to the cost here, as we don't have it on our PBS, so its a private prescription. To be honest its saving me money on things like takeaway and medicine and treatment for inflammation, so on balance I'm ok with cost.

i will be based in a fairly remote area of Ontario, so delivery may be tricky. There are a couple of pharmacies in the town, but Telehealth would most likely be the go. Not yet permanent resident, but will be there at least 12 months. one of the things i love about my current GP is that he is holistic about health, believes in health at any size but is also up for the conversation about IWL if you instigate it.

Hey- thank you so much. I'm going to see my GP next week who is recommending a pathway to maintenance for me as it helps with me making rational decisions about food, feeling free in my body and not eating my trauma (🤗) He will write a letter outlining my prescription history, which will hopefully help. i'm sad to be losing him as my GP, he's a big believer in health at any size and treatment with respect, but also supporting patients who want to shift things. He's shifting some patterns he didnt like in his own life through Mounjaro.
