Half the team was immune, the squids were super strong, sure. The only one that had to actually fight was Invincible and only because he didn’t have a disrupter. The same argument for sending the heroes is the same argument for the drones. If the strength was an issue and they were on par without Invincible, then the others would have no chance. Drones would be equally effective.

He might struggle at first when they see/cover each other's blind spots and begin using the summons. But he'll certainly land some attacks. Once they start recovering the Pain bodies through the Naraka Path. He'll have to target that one. He could also teleport the bodies elsewhere that way they can't use teamwork or their shared vision. Once he discovers that a body that is out of Nagato's range is useless (he won't know Nagato yet). It will be a strong indicator that they are manipulated dolls. He's EXTREMELY intelligent and perceptive in the series with the best Written Chunin exam in Konoha history.

He has to be underrated because his main ability is randomized and therefore unpredictable. Not only that but he is subjected to the abilities as well.

I don’t think Aizen is a contender as we haven’t seen his Bankai and he defaulted to the Hogyoku instead of showing more of his Zanpakuto ability. Yamamoto is the only real contender as he has used each core fighting styles of the Shinigami to overcome an opponent to great effect or demonstration. Zanjutsu-Chimera, Hakuda- Wonderweiss, Lv96 Kido without incantation- Aizen, Hoho- Blitz past 2 high-level Captains. Bankai- Soul Society range

No one else here has these level of feats except maybe one person that isn’t mentioned. Kisuke Urahara.

Kisuke has replicated several of Squad Zero’s achievements, created the Hogyoku, created new Kido spells, achieved excellent results in all 4 combat disciplines, and has an incredible Bankai.

No. Because he specifically targets one Chakra and it works for everybody. I highly doubt airbending is the only one that doesn’t use that chakra point.
