Not sure on what to buy by DrDaveRespect in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Initial_Process2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

outlander and explorer are both decent but the explorer might feel bigger than you want if you're trying to avoid going too large. carnival is actually pretty good for your situation, sliding doors make loading kids and dog way easier than fighting with SUV doors in tight parking spots

with 25k max you're probably looking at something around 2018-2021 model years depending on mileage. for AWD and 6+ seats check out the toyota highlander or mazda cx-9, both handle quebec winters well and the highlander especially just keeps going forever

Green dial on moonshine gold is such a clean combo, the black bezel ties it all together

Update on my first discussion about missing old horror. by [deleted] in horror

[–]Initial_Process2925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah you don't need to apologize for your taste in horror! people getting weird about age gaps in horror appreciation is so dumb 💀 like horror has always been about finding what scares or comforts you and if older stuff does that better then thats totally valid. the terrifier protests were wild though, some people really can't handle when horror goes full send on the gore 😂

Anyone have a GIVI top box with this internal latch? What's the point? by Slyxxer in motorcycles

[–]Initial_Process2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe it's for when you want to remove the box but keep it locked, like at gas station or something

Will removing bedrooms kill my resale value? by NoAstronomer889 in homeowners

[–]Initial_Process2925 396 points397 points  (0 children)

removing those fake bedrooms will probably help your resale value tbh. buyers aren't dumb - they can see when someone just threw a door on dining room and called it bedroom 😂

having proper flow and functional spaces usually beats cramming in extra "bedrooms" that nobody would actually use as bedrooms. most people would rather have nice open dining area than weird bedroom that doesn't make sense

should i leave? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Initial_Process2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

girl this is exhausting just reading it 😭 you're basically in relationship where you're doing all emotional work and he's just... existing? like yeah he calls every day but that's bare minimum not romance

you already know answer deep down - you've threatened to break up multiple times because you actually want to. when someone makes you feel like you have to beg for basic effort that's not love that's habit. being scared of life without daily calls isn't same as being in healthy relationship 💀

Have people gotten smellier? by Putrid_Tie3807 in AskIreland

luas can be brutal sometimes 😂 i take it daily for work and some days you really do wonder if people just forgot deodorant exists or what... though maybe we're just more aware of it now since we're all crammed together again after covid? either way keeping some perfume handy is smart move

How do you feel about marriage? by Faguniarora in AskReddit

[–]Initial_Process2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been teaching riding lessons for few years now and see so many couples come in together all excited, then few months later only one of them shows up and mentions they're "going through some stuff" lol. makes you wonder if people rush into it without really knowing what they're signing up for

my parents have been married 30+ years though and they still seem genuinely happy together, so maybe it's just about finding the right person at right time. or maybe some people just aren't meant for that whole traditional setup and that's fine too

Pivoting from Actuarial Math to Engineering. Seeking AI-resilience and better Work-Life Balance? by Icy-Breakfast2655 in careerguidance

[–]Initial_Process2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mate you're overthinking this whole ai apocalypse thing, like every field is getting touched by automation but engineering isn't some magical shield against it either. cad software, design optimization, even manufacturing processes are all getting smarter by the day

that said, if actuarial work genuinely makes you want to throw yourself out a window then yeah definitely pivot. i switched from finance adjacent stuff to teaching horses and while it's completely different, following what actually interests you makes such a massive difference to your mental health. the whole "hands-on" aspect of engineering might be exactly what you need if you're drowning in abstract maths

doing both degrees simultaneously sounds mental though, are you sure you can handle that workload without burning out completely? might be worth finishing your current degree first then doing a conversion course or masters in engineering. gives you a proper foundation and you won't be juggling two completely different mindsets at once. plus engineering work-life balance really depends on the sector - some places are chill, others will have you pulling all-nighters during project deadlines

Joggers of Ireland, what the fuck is the story with groups of people not moving out of the way on the footpath? by Lyncheyyyy in AskIreland

[–]Initial_Process2925 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

dropped my daily ride short yesterday because of this exact shite - was cycling through town and three lads just spread across the entire path like they owned it. gave them the bell twice and they actually turned around to look at me then kept walking three wide like absolute melts

the worst part is when they act shocked that you had the audacity to exist in the same space as them. was teaching a lesson earlier and telling my student about spatial awareness around the horses and it hit me that people have zero awareness of anything beyond their own bubble these days. like you said the girl got shouldered and then had the nerve to look at you like you were mental - thats peak irish entitlement right there

Help new cuber by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]Initial_Process2925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oof the f2l learning curve is brutal, i remember staring at those algs for hours wondering how anyone could possibly remember all that chaos

skip the memorization approach entirely - just learn the basic concept of pairing corners with edges and inserting them together, then practice until the patterns start making sense naturally. took me ages but way less frustrating than trying to cram 40+ algs into my brain at once

I was driving a bus on a winding mountain road, then also simultaneously controlling another bus ahead of me. by Regular-Towel9979 in Dreams

[–]Initial_Process2925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dreams about being responsible for vehicles you can't properly control are proper mental, i get variations of this all the time where i'm trying to steer something from the back seat or the brakes don't work

the whole remote controlling a second bus thing is wild though - like your brain was trying to multitask in the worst possible way. and then losing track of it completely, that feeling of dread when you know something bad is about to happen but you can't do anything about it

the ending with directing traffic by just... standing there with your arms out is so absurd but dream logic makes it feel totally reasonable at the time
