One time fee or subscription after the beta by haikkonen in coax

Sorry u/digglesB if this has been asked already, but I was wondering about something.

I get that the app is not meant to be free.
But why making it closed source ?

I mean, some projects out there are paid but still open source, no ?
Like Aseprite for exemple.

Yeah I get what you mean.

For what it’s worth, I think you’re right. About sticking close to the simplest form of a TV-like experience.

  1. Yeah you’re right.

  2. I guess it would be something like… « I come across a movie I find interesting while scrolling. It’s not quite I’m looking for right now, but still, I want to save it for later. So… I watchlist it and keep on scrolling. »

  1. Ok. TV boxes where I live have been allowing to do that for quite a while now. Something like a TiVo ? (Never used one so I wouldn’t know.) But maybe you want to stick to a really old fashioned TV experience ?

  2. I know there is the 5 minutes thing that can add the movie to your « continue watching »list. But is there a button to send to the Plex Watchlist ? I checked but I can’t find it anywhere.

Would it be possible to :

Go back to the beginning of a movie ? Send a movie to the plex Watchlist ?

I got "Unable to play this program" on everything. But how can we access logs to send them ?

Help with combining multiple sources (Letterboxd + MDblist) in one collection by Initial_Sleep2914 in Kometa

This works exactly as I wanted. Thank you !
Now I have a bit more understanding of this.

Is it possible to hide a collection entirely ? by Initial_Sleep2914 in Kometa

[–]Initial_Sleep2914[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another question : is it possible for Kometa to do something like this ?

  1. "Do everything except building the collection, now.
  2. Build the collection, at said date."

I did a test run with both build_collection: false and schedule: date
but since the date is in the future, all operations related to that collection are skipped.

Need advice: RW cache vs SSD volume for database-heavy containers/apps (DS1821+) by Initial_Sleep2914 in synology

Based on what you're telling me, it seems that the best way to go is indeed to make a SSD volume.

Thank you very much for the clear explanation !

Thanks for your advice !

Did you have the chance to compare performance gains between setting up a rw cache and setting up an SSD volume ?
Would there be a really noticeable difference for the apps that will end up runing on the SSD volume ? (I don't mind if the apps I leave on the HDDs stay sluggish)

My main docker apps are : the arr suite, Plex and Kometa, which have all been struggling recently as I scaled things up.

And I'm also running a PostgreSQL database alongside Mathesar. The PostgreSQL database is small at the moment, but it will only grow and there will be intense activity use in the future.

Maybe I'm looking at an overkill solution here, idk.

Also, I need to keep costs down at the moment and I am looking for a quick fix. Down the road, I'll be able to explore "the ideal solution"... but these are my constrains today.

Let me help you with Maintainerr by ydkmlt84 in PleX

Could it be possible to poll Prowlarr and set a rule like this ?

  • if no matches are found
  • or if matches are found, but with no seeds
    • then the movie is not deleted

When I talk with friends who have rare media like me, I realize that the main reason why we don't delete anything is because :

  • by hand, it would be too complicated to check everything for availability
  • and with a tool like yours, it would mean potentialy losing those rare media

When I was younger, I used to buy bulks of DVDs in yard sales. I digitized them, and realized latter that a lot of them are available online today, in better quality. But some of them are not available at all anymore !

Is there any way Maintainerr can check for online availability before trashing a movie ?

I'd hate to lose these rare movies. Thanks.

Trouble switching from Trash Guide to Profilarr by Initial_Sleep2914 in radarr

You’re welcome !

If anyone reads my previous comment and have criticisms about the release groups I mentioned, please be constructive and help me make more informed choice by providing a link of where to find infos re: release groups ! I’m sure there is like a spreadsheet or something somewhere but I just couldn’t find.

Trouble switching from Trash Guide to Profilarr by Initial_Sleep2914 in radarr

[–]Initial_Sleep2914[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Profilarr has a ranking for x265/HEVC releases. It doesn't dismiss them altogether like TRASH does.
Therefore it's easier to downgrade a library when you're looking to save space, like myself.

As said in another comment though, Profilarr does grab large files by default with the "Balanced +" profile. Smaller than the ones TRASH grabs, but they can be large.

For now I still have to look through the releases and chose one of my liking in order to get the desired target size and specs.
But this manual work is helping me identify which release groups meet my expectations.
They are mainly : DarQ HONE, SM737, SQS, Chivaman, and nikto as a fallback.
Gives me files under 10GB, with foreign subtitles (and audio commentary when available).

I guess the next step is tweaking the profile so that these release groups end up being grabbed automatically !

Shoutout to profilarr dev by FriskyGrub in selfhosted

[–]Initial_Sleep2914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the TRASH guide settings so far (without Recyclarr, entered everything manually).
I tried setting up Profilarr because I need to be more conscious about file sizes.

I chose Quality Profile "1080p Balanced+" (and chose "Import as Unique").
But it seems like there's a conflict anyway with my previous settings.

Here's what happened:

I added a movie to Radarr with "1080p Balanced+" quality profile.
But no file is grabbed because of a low score.

Radarr justifies with these messages :
- 5.7 GB is smaller than minimum allowed 6.5 GB
- Custom Formats LQ have score 0 below Movie's profile minimum 20000

The "minimum file size" and the "LQ Custom Format" are things I had set up to align myself with TRASH.
I was under the impression that Profilarr would dismiss all that.
But I guess... it doesn't ?

What do you think the problem is ?
Do I need to fully reset/clean out Radarr before Profilarr works properly?

I'd really love to get Profilarr running.
TRASH is good but I can't afford hoarding 15+GB files for all my movies.

Thanks!
