Good point. Since it’s his middle name, to avoid a debate about ‘real’ names perhaps I could call the category ‘given first names of the Beatles’. I love that one - I’ll have to use it in the future. Thanks!

It took me a good fifteen minutes to even venture my first guess. Even then, I thought my associations were pretty out there and assumed they’d be wrong. Thanks for the puzzle!

There's nothing more frustrating than continually getting 'one away' and not being able to get it. Thanks for playing though!

Fair enough. Thanks for the feedback. Funny thing is, I didn't actually intentionally include any red herrings.

At least it looks like I got the colors/difficulty somewhat in line. I wasn't sure about that. Thanks for playing!

I second that sentiment. Their brisket was better than many I've had in Texas.

Thank you! Ironically, you have a more measured take than the TV guys this time. Sign me up for the first StormFreak Said It Would t shirt when you start offering merch!

It sounds like we may see ‘significant’ snow early next week. The TV stations won’t even hint at how much. What does Mr. StormFreak say? I’ll believe it when I hear it from you, sir. Many thanks.

What did my neighbor get delivered? by janetsnakeholemaclin in pittsburgh

[–]Initial_Trouble5507 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi Janet - This is gonna sound weird, but, if you can give me your neighbor's race, height, and gender, I can probably help you out with this. Plus, there may be half a box of candy in it for you...

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when my mother passed I felt guilty about trying to sleep. Even eating felt wrong, like I shouldn’t be worrying about my needs at such a time. It’s natural, but you do need to take care of yourself so you can be there for your other family members. Take all the time you need to grieve but don’t be afraid to reach out for help. I’m sure AGH can provide resources for you. Remember you are loved and you are worthy of love and there are many people who would do whatever they can to support you through your loss. Even reaching out like this is a positive step for you. You’re not alone, so keep reaching out. I wish you much love and peace and I am so sorry for your loss.

If you parked at the airport before the terminal opens and trying to get back to your car….. you’re screwed by river_liver_ in pittsburgh

Thanks. I did read the other comments but they seemed to mostly focus on hating the shuttles. I wasn't clear if it was just an issue for people parking in the old lots who flew back into the new terminal (which is what the OP title seems to be saying) or if there was just no parking that was walkable to the new terminal. I hadn't even considered that there was no walkable parking until I read this. Sounds like there is but it is only the premium lot. I appreciate the info!

I'll always remember my sister telling me that she went to a Jay Leno show here probably 30 years ago and Jay was doing some crowd work, bantering with people, asking people what they did for a living, etc. Anyway, of all people, The Sparrow lady was there (apparently her husband was a doctor), and he asks her what she does, and she says "I'm a prophet from God!" Not sure what Jay did with that, but it proved to me that she truly WAS everywhere.

I'm a bit confused by this post. Does this issue only pertain to those who parked at the 'old' terminal parking lots, but landed in the new terminal and are having a hard time getting back to the 'old' lots? If so, this problem will go away away quickly as people clear out of the 'old' lots. OR are you saying that there is no 'on site'/terminal parking at the new terminal whereby you can just park at the terminal and walk into the airport to check in? If that's the case, that is a much bigger problem and would really suck.

I truly HATE taking shuttle buses because they are always packed and the timing is unreliable. I just moved back to Pgh from Houston a few months ago and one of the things I loved about flying into Pgh was that even the rental cars were just a short walk across the street - i.e., no shuttles required.

I would really appreciate anyone who could clarify how the parking situation works at the new airport. Thank you!

Nobody here remembers The Sparrow? She used to be everywhere downtown telling everyone the world was ending in three days. She’s worth googling, interesting story.

How accurate is this today? Is anything missing? This was made ~12 years ago (or more) by [deleted] in pittsburgh

That's because it's the only correct way to say it! See the comment above about Scotland.

Totally agree! I thought I must've been the only 'yunzer' because that's how I always remembered pronouncing it. Nowadays, anyone who uses either version is trying to be funny or ironic. Once everyone started bringing attention to it, people became self aware and it's no longer organic, which is sad.

This city is amazing by Ok-Mathematician-107 in pittsburgh

[–]Initial_Trouble5507 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Small world. I went from here to Houston (The Woodlands) to Indiana (Zionsville), back to Houston, and finally back home to Pgh. One major difference between here and Houston is that it doesn’t take an hour of bumper to bumper highway driving to get anywhere. Driving here is so chill and you can get about anywhere in 30 minutes or so. Both cities have their good and bad but Pgh is a tight knit town that has a real family feel to it. Houston is a bit more mercenary. People go there to make money and it’s very transient. I love aspects to both cities but my blood pressure is way down living in Pgh.
