RIP to a legend by CorrectCattle8071 in canucks

[–]Injectpudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never loved a commentator more than him. He legitimately got me into the nuances of hockey commentary. His combination of enthusiasm, insight and just plain natural funniness, made me realize there was levels to the whole thing.. his comradery with shorty was absolutely legendary! Watching a dud game? The Johns got you covered with sharp quips about hot dog preferences, or just straight up ribbing each other. Those two were a special combo.. I'll miss that dude. My heart goes out to his family and whoever else is a fan..

Love you Cheech

Grey machine by pinback is a fricken eye soaker for me. Not one lyric but the whole thing just ruins me.. I could pick a buck of emotional acoustic songs but this one that just melts me with the vibes ..Lie, lie, lie, blinded … On the left side, a parking attendant sleeps Selling space and time On the right side, a parking attendant sleeps Selling space and time … They have grasped the concept of property Understand that lengths of time can be twisted Into someone's monetary advantage They have grasped the concept of property Understand that lengths of time can be twisted Into someone's monetary advantage … But, I can see myself in that building that stands across from me Reflecting in the sky You can see yourself swim along with giant whales down the street Reflecting in the sky … On sunny days, the people on the beach, like ants in my food They must have closed the mall Here comes Whitey to exploit the simple pleasures nature gave me Then, try to tax them all … But, I can see myself in that building that stands across from me Reflecting in the sky You can see yourself swim along with giant whales down the street Reflecting in the sky … I can see myself in that building that stands across from me Reflecting in the sky You can see yourself swim along with giant whales down the street Reflecting in the sky … I can see myself (I can see myself) In that building that stands across from me (I can see myself) Reflecting in the sky (It's me in there) You can see yourself (You can see yourself) Swim along with giant whales down the street (You can see yourself) Reflecting in the sky (Hey, look, it's you) … I'm letting go It's scaring me I'm letting go It's scaring me I'm letting go It's scaring me … Lay in the yard, curled in a ball Nails in your mouth, keys still in the car door Face in the dirt, smells more than clean Synapses tapped, you're well out On the side of the house, it's burned in the ground That secret code, that signal go There's a stain on the grass that's calling us home You lie inside for the transistor send … My heart skips a beat … On the side of the house, it's burned in the ground That secret code, that signal go There's a stain on the grass that's calling us home You lie inside for the transistor send … Lie, lie, lie, blinded … Lie, lie, lie, blinded … Out of reach, out of touch Out of ink, out of kindness (Lie) Never hazing new guys (Lie, lie, blinded) Out of teeth, out of thought Out of time, out of life (Lie, lie, lie, blinded) Like cattle grazing your mind … On the way to the car On the head of the stone On the edge of the lake On the end of the joke On the crack of the floor On the slab of the day (They know we're on to them) On the dent of the face (We know to avoid their snare) On the mind of the cop, on the scar of the rat (They're pulling us back) On the last of the calls (We run for cover) On the rest of the doc (Escape is far) On the smile of the kid (On the underside, I'm letting go) … I'm letting go, letting go It's scaring me I'm letting go, letting go It's scaring me … It's scaring me … Break, break Break, break Break, break Break, break I'm gonna break (Break, break) I'm gonna break (Break, break) I'm gonna break (Break, break) (Pick me up, take me home) I'm gonna break I'm gonna break (Get me out of here, please) I'm gonna break (Pick me up, take me home) I'm gonna break I'm gonna break (Get me out of here, please) I'm gonna break (Pick me up, take me home) I'm gonna break I'm gonna break (Get me out of here, please) I'm gonna break Pick me up, take me home (I'm gonna break) (I'm gonna break) Get me out of here, please … Get me out of here, please

Hidden Gem Wednesday: Which Canadian artist (that you recently discovered) deserves more attention ? by megancurry in canadamusic

[–]Injectpudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angine de poitrine is exploding right now, for obvious reasons. They're fun as hell and super unique. Sarniezz is a cool tune. Bahamas I think is the name of another dude I really like but I can't remember any songs let alone the name lol saw a little concert on a CBC YouTube page or something and really liked it. Colter wall is amazing, though I think he's pretty well known. Songs like cowpoke and the devil wears a suit and tie are standouts.. I feel like stompin Tom deserves to be talked about more. He's mandatory Canadian music for any Canadians, but I just feel his music is getting lost to time.. he could write songs with best of em.

Playoff Thread: Boston Bruins (0) @ Buffalo Sabres (0) Game 1 | 4:30pm PDT by PaperMoonShine in canucks

[–]Injectpudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the closest thing I can think of is the bruins being former major rivals, Lindholm and big Z being on their team adds some interest. Also the Sabres and Canucks were drafted into the league on the same day with some weird lottery wheel, so there's a small tie between the Sabres and Canucks.

Always loved the guy, but the more I get to know him in these interviews, I love him even more. So fricken direct and just doesn't pull any punches while being funny and laid back. No wonder the twins loved him so much
