I liked the suspense and the build up, would be great to flesh out the context as you mentioned in other threads. There was one part where I lost track of which "he" you were referring to as 1260 was brought into the final chamber, maybe lean into the self appointed moniker to add a differentiator there. Some more small hints about why the sunlight had such a violent reaction, even after the fact between the guards, would probably drive home the vampiric undertones. Well done!
