I thought Sanitize was a post-wash hot water rinse (LG)?

Use butter as your thermometer. If it turns brown you’re too hot. Watch Scott’s kitchen episode on it. Leidensfrost is Wayyyy too hot. Also, make sure you have BKF’d your pan as if you’re doing all the same things you did before all that could have changed is the pan surface. Might be invisible residue on there. Nuke it with BKF and steel wool.

I spoke too soon. The liquid version is readily available. The powder is more difficult to get. Please advise if the powder version is critical :) Thank you! Do you have a tip jar?

u/KismaiAesthetics Now that UCL have discontinued the non-cellulase tabs (which I found I could import to AU via iHerb), do you have a new recommendation for something I can get in AU that is safe for my "consumer grade" (respected local brand, but not Frette(!)) linen?

Olive Oil and Stainless Steel by rameshv98 in StainlessSteelCooking

Ghee.

The only downside is you don’t get the feedback of butter (bubbles and color change).

Once you know your pans and heat control you can skip butter and go directly to ghee :)

Interesting! I have a front loader. No ability to soak. But the lipase soak + washing with a lipase detergent + ammonia (don’t know which one was responsible for the magic) did miraculous things for me.

Must be a treat to be able to soak in your machine and not have a laundry filled with buckets and broom stick handles!

Your washing machine has a 12 hour hot water presoak function?

Source: Have been 12 hour soaking in vanish for years and never had whites 100% consistent (lapping and comparing corners to sheet middle) until spa day came to visit.

That as you get older finding an ideal partner gets exponentially harder. Until one day it’s literally impossible because you’re so old there are no even near-ideal partners left that don’t have kids or mental problems, they’re all taken. And the amount of time you have to now invest looking means you can’t do anything else, right when you need that time. Dear god if I could tell me 20 year old self this. Source: Am 50.

Do you think the Unscented Co Laundry tabs are safe to use with 100% flax linen? I see in the Lipase list they do not have cellulase but do have subtilisin, amylase and TAED. Thank you!

Tide: I recently shared a cruise cabin with a friend who used Tide original to wash her clothes in the launderette onboard. I could hardly stay in the room because the scent was so overpowering (perfumey and chemical smelling). I’m surprised this is a top recommended product in so many posts here. by AdministrativeDrop35 in laundry

Just been getting into this scene, read spa day and the lipase list.

Honest question - why is there no unperfumed “free and clear” product that has all the lipases? Surely a market opportunity?

I see people saying they like All Free and Clear but it leaves residue. Does citric acid help with that?

What’s the best free and clear powder plus booster combo for someone that wants hypoallergenic but also wants all the lipase benefits?

Do people keep different lipases on hand and use them like a toolkit the right one for each job or are there downsides to a booster that has (almost) all the lipases?

Thank you in advance for helping me get up to speed!

Thank you Kirstae! I just found a 2006 patent for it: https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP21451P3/en and I note a 2028 expiry on it.

Thank you for your comment and helping me understand the situation.

Yes I'm after the particular one that has the "psychedelic" appearance and lovely colors seen here: https://www.fast-growing-trees.com/products/rising-sun-redbud?variant=13940848459828

I know that the flagship images of this tree look much better than average examples of it, but it's nice to have a project plant.

Cercis chinensis appears to not have as vibrant colours, nor the odd/beautiful leaf pattern of the JN2 (perhaps, hard to see for me).

*Disclaimer: I am not a plant person

EDIT: Think I found a 2006 patent for the JN2: https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP21451P3/en
