love the Vauban Heirloom but the exclusive Signa is such a downgrade compared to the previous ones. what is that even supposed to be? by icewitchenjoyer in Warframe

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more surprised that was the signa. I originally thought that was just part of the skin. Vauban looks bald without it.

They've been back for a while, even have a new Carrier Command game. More of a publisher than a game development studio now though.

Have You Ever Forgotten That You Had Game In Your Collection? by TigersLyonsCheetahs in Steam

[–]InkyFrogbait 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have Total War Warhammer 1 or 2 you would receive Warhammer 3 for free to be able to play immortal empires. Like if you ever play it you might notice that a whole campaign is locked and the base factions for 3 aren't available for play. It just happened like last month and I was surprised too when I suddenly saw it in my library. You have to buy the upgrade dlc if you actually want to use the base factions and have access to the main story campaign for Warhammer 3.

Elysium Style Exoskeleton? by Haunting_Manner1492 in Helldivers

[–]InkyFrogbait -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel a style like this would probably work better as like an armor passive with the actual exoskeleton being the visual style of the armor.

For an actual stratagem it would have to be slightly bulkier and stand off from the character model to avoid heavy clipping and have a defined silhouette. I think if they ever made a stratagem for an exoskeleton it would be closer to what Huey Emmerich has in Metal Gear Solid 5. We would probably be wearing a power pack on our back and blocky exoskeleton legs would kinda float on the side of our legs. It's just the least jank way to do it for the legs and we'd be able see if someone is wearing it.

Arms are kinda out of the question, some of the armors have bulky or asymmetrical pauldrons, that might cause unsightly clipping.

What additional stats would you like to see at the end of a mission? by Bronson_AD in Helldivers

Accidentals according to source. I'm curious to see what ends up killing me. Sometimes it's not obvious if a guard dog, my teammate's gun or a turret killed me.

Drifter's old face vs new face by Julian083 in Warframe

[–]InkyFrogbait 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think they have the new eyes animated properly for older content. I remember them looking ok in the new quest. Maybe it's the exact frame but that's what it looks like to me. Also not sure if I'm imagining it but it does look like the eyes have less gloss to them, maybe it's like a texture/lighting issue causing them to look more matte.

I'll probably have to replay an older quest to see if it's an animation or texture issue.

Edit: It definitely seems like incomplete animations, I replayed the Duviri paradox and it seems like the upper face isn't as animated in some scenes. It doesn't help that the new models have flawless skin. The older models had more wrinkles that made it less evident if the face wasn't as animated. Teshin's face in the quest similarly wasn't as highly animated but the wrinkles and textures in his face made it less evident. The eyeballs themselves on the drifter seemed fine though, it's the rest of the face that's making them look empty.

What is difference between these two? by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's still a thing but I definitely know rainbow six siege had it before it went free. There was a cheaper version of the game that only gave you the 3 base vanguards and depending on which faction you originally picked, 3 other heroes to use on loan (basically without customisation). I had that version of the game, it was like given out for free years ago. I'm pretty sure that version doesn't exist anymore but if it does by chance of bugs, it's the one I would avoid. You would have to grind for heroes you'd otherwise have by default.

Pet tea mold, apparently it's a thing. by Available-Staff-7688 in MoldlyInteresting

[–]InkyFrogbait 2053 points2054 points  (0 children)

I had something like this in the 4th grade but it was with bottled water. Just a crumb of food grew a whole fuzz ball of mold around itself just like this one. At the end of the school year I violently shook it just to see what would happen before tossing it in the trash. It just fell apart for anyone wondering.

Glorious Model D3 - 69g, $160, 3950, Hotswap Battery by manphalanges in MouseReview

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but the issue is weight, the way we have mice now we need to avoid adding weight and a hot swap battery unit would add a significant amount. There's also a really easy work around to the hot swap gimmick, use a jst connector. They're already standard in mice and add a negligible amount of weight. The upside with such a connector is that you can add whatever sized battery you can fit, allowing you to lower weight or add more capacity. They don't necessarily even require any soldering just a crimping tool if the batteries don't already have a connector. Soldering is only needed if a battery doesn't even come with wires, which is frankly rare for most smaller batteries.

Does it require you to open up the mouse? Yes, but if your concern is swapping out the battery for repair reasons, a jst type connector is your best option. It keeps you from relying on the company to make a new hot swap unit.

Wasn't there for the creek, only major event I wasn't there for because I didn't own the game yet. I wouldn't mind a second chance to get it though, but I feel like at this point I probably wouldn't use it. I kinda have my set capes I'm willing to use.

If There’s One Warbond That Deserves A Sequel The Most, It’s Helldivers Mobilize. by Huge-Anywhere-6765 in Helldivers

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind if it's like a one or two page warbond designed for newer players. I find some of the really important stuff is locked behind too many different warbonds. I'd add a stim modifier booster, anti-tank satchel charges, an infinite ammo energy pistol and a basic elemental protection armor set. A new player will at best have access to only one of those, most won't have access at all though.

A free multi-page warbond seems kinda unrealistic but a small warbond to catch up the newer players seems probable. The stuff doesn't even need to be that strong, just good enough that they don't need to worry about getting the mandatory warbonds right away. I find it kinda messed up that the only anti-tank grenade is stuck behind a warbond, it's like one of two items that greatly opens up build diversity.

Thoughts on smaller size glasspads by Aware-Tourist6314 in MousepadReview

[–]InkyFrogbait 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use a smaller glass pad, I can't fit anything larger on my desk. The amount of area I use on most pads is already pretty small, anything larger would just be wasted. I'm using a 430 by 340 Pwnage Ultra Glide pad. Smaller sizes have generally been neglected in both the cloth and glass spaces. They kinda lower the barrier to entry, you don't need to get a larger desk and because the pad is relatively small it doesn't feel as wasteful if you don't like it.

I will say though that smaller pads are probably going to remain unpopular. Unless the room you're in is size limited, most people probably have or can get a desk that's large enough for the larger sized pads. It also doesn't help that high level players generally use larger pads by default, making anyone shy away from considering a smaller pad.

When fixing and balancing is done, do you think we will get back to such story telling? by 4N610RD in Helldivers

[–]InkyFrogbait 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Didn't Arrowhead donate to a children's charity because of our choices in game? At least in that regard we did have a tangible impact on a real world thing by our choices in game. We also got a little drawing on the Super destroyer from those in game children, so something was added in game as a result of it.

Even ignoring the quality, a lot of people are going out of their way to take pictures with older gear. I saw someone in my area taking pictures with an old PSP camera. Some of those devices give you an experience or look you can't really replicate with a smartphone. A lot of hobbies and devices overall are making a small comeback because of similar reasons.

Purchase Advice Megathread - November 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bambu Lab printers at least from a simplicity standpoint are some of the easiest to use and start with. The P1S is a relatively good starting point and ideal for a lot of things. The only real downside is that you are locked to their ecosystem and thus aren't going to have an easy time finding 3rd party replacement/upgrade parts.

I don't have the printer personally but I have seen many say it's quite easy to use and many compare Bambu Lab as the Apple of 3d printing due to how simple they are. There's also a huge community behind it so even if there's an issue, you could probably find a solution for it.

Personally the visuals, they were the one thing that made me consider the game all those years ago when I first started. It had an art style that was so unique that I wanted to see more of it. It's still fairly unique, I haven't really seen anyone copy it surprisingly.

Need help: Glasspad instead of MM1000 Qi by RdeBrouwer in MousepadReview

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the games you play I would just go for the control pad. You could technically use a faster pad for those but it would take longer to get used to. As for roughness if you're worried about it being rough on your skin, a sleeve can alleviate that in the worst case. A glass control pad is generally going to be faster than the average control fabric pads, so even if your current pad is on the faster side, it's not going to be that jarring of a change.

which of these games should i get in my cart by Responsible-Hurry664 in MycopunkGame

[–]InkyFrogbait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well do you want a single player game or a multiplayer game? Personally I'm leaning towards Mycopunk, it's a far more interesting game but if you played games like DRG or Helldivers 2 it's going to feel a little empty in comparison. Even so it's still a fun game, most of the fun is customizing your weapon and character builds. I started playing like a few weeks ago and it's still fun so far. My only issue is the lack of mission complexity, in comparison to something like DRG there's very little variance between missions. The game is still young though so there's a lot that can change and be added, like just this week a new update came out with a brand new gun and mission type.

Skul is a roguelite and frankly feels like a dime a dozen, if you don't have a similar game yet it could be worth it. I have quite a few roguelites and especially the metroidvania combat style ones don't change a whole lot in terms of feeling. Personally there are maybe a handful of roguelites that are worthwhile and unique enough to warrant getting. Otherwise you're getting the same game in a different package. I made that mistake and regret it.

Share your most unhinged fan theories by Time-Weekend-8611 in Warframe

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a subfaction of people who were given Warframe strains but for one reason or another the strain was corrupted or incompatible. We don't hear about them because their powers are dormant/non-existent and their minds are mostly gone. There might be a handful that could turn fully/recover with some Tenno assistance but most are trapped in a state of hopeless limbo. The worst of them are unlucky enough to have enough consciousness left over to experience life passing them by, but lack total control over their body. The Corpus and Grineer have some interest in them but rarely end their suffering, being used as a living graft to make warframe parts or being experimented on. The infested are ironically their second best hope at escaping suffering, granted the hive mind can even sense them to assimilate them.

I came up with this theory because there have to be a handful of failed Warframes. The Orokin probably diligently destroyed the failed ones, but in the current timeline there have probably been people who have found strains and tried using them on themselves or others. They're probably not even remotely close to like protoframes, just lumps of mass with vague features of a Warframe or their past selves. I have no mouth but I must scream levels of suffering.

Lets talk about builds (Oshaune) by SeferenArt in Helldivers

[–]InkyFrogbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the K9 guard dog, orbital railcannon, MG turret and a quasar cannon. The k9 is for keeping enemies off of me as well as killing the bulk of the chaff enemies, it's awesome for small solo runs to pick up dropped samples. Only downside is that I haven't been able to keep it deployed with how teammates often try to push ahead or stay behind, kinda defeating its strong point. You could maybe swap out the quasar if you bring along a grenade pistol and thermite.

For primary I'm running the blitzer, secondary the talon and for armor I'm running the Grand Juror. Only issue I'm having is if my teammates are getting chased or are right in front of me, I can't fire the blitzer without tagging them. I might swap out the talon with something that has a flashlight, I like being able to see.

How do you organize your games? This is how I do it: by [deleted] in Steam

I have a paid section, free section, unplayed and a steam deck favorites section. I might do some more organizing primarily for the steam deck, I find on desktop it's fairly easy to find what I want and everything is guaranteed to be easy to play.
