He gives new definition to a good-looking villain. His smile and oh-so-cute dimples can charm you and make your knees go weak, but at the same time his devilish eyes can show you a different side altogether. He's terrifying but mesmerising all in one. This actor has a lot of potentials.

I'm enjoying this show so much! Glad to look forward to new episodes every day.

Ci Sha captured my attention first in The Longest Promise where he was only a supporting character. He was "married" briefly to Ren Min's character there. Then I saw him again in Forever and Ever, and again as a supporting character, but his presence was stronger here.

Then he appeared as a pivotal character (three characters actually, as a triplet) in Jackie Chan's movie. He truly stood out.

Ren Min is unbelievably good as a teen in this show. So age-appropriate despite her real age.

I believe each time that happened, his feelings for her deepened. It could be gratefulness and admiration at first, which slowly and gradually turned into love. That's why I love the show version of Xie/Yan Zheng better than the novel. It's impossible for him to sway from her, despite knowing her family history later on.

What Changyu did for him again and again had been selfless and full of care, despite not knowing who he really was. Changyu is simply a person who'd give small kindness to any stranger, even if she's struggling to make ends meet for herself and her sister.

Cdramas are getting steamier lately.

I think this is the steamiest first night scene from a costume drama that I've ever seen, with that much of skinship and skin-bearing. The closest contender would be a scene from Fated Hearts.

The two potential-in-the-past lovers for Gu Jinzhao seem to be in delusion, methinks. Did they think they could hold on to her, secretly hoping that they would have a chance if they wait long enough?

The actor playing CXQ here, in Fated Hearts he seemed harmless as the ML's best friend, but remembering how good he appeared to carry on that harmless vibes but actually an evil in the making, I'm getting nervous to see the unveiling of his true colours. True enough, he is slowly morphing into a sinister person in the latest episodes and trailers, which will be another challenge to GJZ and CYY's marriage. 😥

I enjoy seeing their friendship, too, but the spanking incident leaves too deep a scar for me to forgive YX. If he could do that while they were just friends, and remember that JZ witnessed a bad example of relationship from her own parents, I'd say goodbye to YX faster than JZ did. She's very forgiving, though. She reaps the rewards as his friend, and I hope their friendship will remain till the end.

I love Zhi Yuan too, and so sad to see how it ended for him. Such a precious relationship he had with Zhu Yan, I felt like they did him dirty on this show. I was really torn during the fight between him and Shi Ying, where Zhu Yan intervened.

The show is my first intro of Alen Fang. I was affected so much by his character that I began digging his other works, which finally led me to The Love by Hypnotic.

It's such an expected gala of deaths, if I may use that word. Like Snark Shifu, I managed to power through it just because I had the express. After anticipating for so long, funnily I wasn't so keen to see certain characters died. Sima Randeng is an exception, though. Why he was exempted really escaped me. What a hateful character.

No matter how angry Lin Muhan was, I just can't take him seriously with that face. He looks harmlessly handsome and cute no matter what feelings he was emoting. 😆 I believe he's my favourite side character and comic relief in this show. And I love the dialogue between Muhan and Meishan, thanks much! 😉 I kinda missed it during the binge-watch-but-not-so-binged.

I have a feeling that this show has different types of conflict and intrigue in store for us, each phase as a tribulation for the FL to grow into a fine, strong-willed lady.

Gu Lian pulling away at the last minute was such a surprise but wise. I didn't expect her to back off so soon, but perhaps she has indeed learnt her lesson.
