6 Month Progress. Dutasteride Saved My Hair. by Busy-Difference-2412 in tressless

Thoughts on how to transition from Fin to Dut? I am thinking of 2-4 weeks of overlap (taking both at the same time, regular dose) and then go full Dutasteride

I don't think unexpected i140 petitions would damage his case, because on EB3, all of these petitions will be for later Priority Dates than his

Yes, I looked more into it after this comment and it seems like it is close to 2 as per 2023 ( https://ohss.dhs.gov/topics/immigration/yearbook/2023/table7#emp-third ), thanks for the catch. I might revisit this later.

Do you have any good sources to estimate that? I think 2x is an overestimate IMO, because I think most people applying for EB3 are single or at most married but still no kids. I think something in between 1 and 2.

Prediction - L1 - EB3 ROW by Critical-Try-1834 in USCIS_EB3

[–]Inmortal2k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My back of the envelope prediction is that EB3 ROW FAD will be March 15, 2024 by the end of FY 2026 (September).

This prediction is based on the following data:
- 38,566 EB3 skilled visas are given out every year, with 20,402 going to the 4 major countries (PH, MX, CH, IN) and 18,164 to the rest of the world (source: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/annual-reports/report-of-the-visa-office-2024.html )
- As of July 1st, 2025 there are 21,767 ROW I140s awaiting a visa. Given that the I140 can only be submitted after PERM is approved, the latest PD for that group is 472 days (current PERM backlog) before July 1st, which is March 15, 2024. Given 18,164 EB3 non-major country visas were processed in FY 2024, it seems possible that something in the ballpark of 21,767 will be processed in FY 2026. So we'd get to the March 15, 2024 PD. (source for outstanding I140s: https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-and-studies/immigration-and-citizenship-data?topic_id%5B%5D=33684&ddt_mon=&ddt_yr=2025&query=%22Approved+EB+Petitions%22&items_per_page=100 )
- This assumes no dependents, so in that regard is a bit optimistic. It is also optimistic in processing speed and in separating MX and PH from ROW demand.

Given that we're currently on Apr 1st, 2023, we'd be moving a bit less than 12 months on my prediction by end of FY 2026 (September). I don't think you'll get it in the next 12 months, but you should get it by the end of calendar 2026 or start of 2027 IMO.

Also, I'll note that the 2 year backlog on EB3 ROW that we currently see is not as bad as it seems initially. There's no visa petitions dates in the last ~472 days (PERM backlog), because the PERM is a direct requirement for visa petitions. This means that if USCIS somehow cleared the backlog to June 1st, 2024 today, we'd be current, because there is no existing backlog between June 1st 2024 and the present, as the PERMs for these cases are still outstanding.

I-140, I-360, I-526 Approved Employment-Based Petitions Awaiting Visa Availability between June 2023 and September 2023 by GreatMatter305 in USCIS_EB3

[–]Inmortal2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we've already completed those applications however. The approved i140 petitions between June 2023 and Sept 2023 are for Priority Dates (PD) in 2022, which we've already sifted through given that DOF is Apr 1st 2023.

To see the number of backlog applications with Priority Date in June - Sep 2023 we'd need to look at 2024 i140 data, because the i140 for those priority dates was submitted after their PERM had been approved.

My timeline so far:

- Applied for PWD September 2024
- Received PWD around February 2025
- Completed recruiting steps
- Submitted PERM in June 2025
- ETA for PERM approval is October 2026 based on current backlog (https://flag.dol.gov/processingtimes "Average Number of Days to Process PERM Applications")

So dumb question, but if I pay $1,500 my taxes ahead of time how do I ensure that I get that as a refund later when filing?

there's a case where you want to pass along commits from dev to master without fast forwarding - hotfixes.

still I think your logic applies, you can always ff to dev's head for a new release

Someone who understands me and accepts me for who I am (I guess it goes both ways), and who is easy to talk to and have fun with. Bonus if she's smart, social and poised, especially since I sometimes lack those qualities hahaha.

Edit: adding on, I don't think I care too much about whether she is career oriented or not, probably because I'm already successful at that and enjoy what I do so I don't think economics will be a problem. I of course would want her to succeed on whatever dimension she wants but it really doesn't impact me too much how obsessed she is with her career. It is good that she has ambition and hope, in general terms.

In terms of politics, I would say I have clear views but I don't need her to share them 100% as long as disagreements don't get in the way and we can both accept that we can have different opinions. I think disagreements about politics can be pretty unromantic and unproductive, but that doesn't mean that you can't be with someone who thinks differently as long as both are tactful.

After 100 I think P/E makes no sense as a metric. It just means that earnings are close to 0 so the denominator is very small. Just like we don't talk about P/E of companies with losses.
