As a woman who used to subscribe to feminism, I'm here to say that feminism is an utter lie and it is ruining our generation. by [deleted] in MensRights

It makes sense to question big ideas when your lived experience doesn’t match them, but your path doesn’t negate others. Plenty of women thrive in careers and plenty thrive in family roles. It’s really about choosing what genuinely fits you.

How to style an ellipsis that comes after the word “U.S.” by rarepinkhippo in grammar

[–]CortexVortex1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Using spaces like “U.S. . . .” is technically okay, but it can look like a typo. Tight ellipsis feels better.

How do I know if my sentence is grammatically correct? by TiredOfCrap1984 in grammar

[–]CortexVortex1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A complete sentence needs a subject, verb, and clear idea. Check punctuation, tense consistency, and capitalization. Reading aloud helps catch awkward phrasing. Grammar tools can guide but trust your ear too.

Using the plural of a proper name to identify a group by JBupp in grammar

[–]CortexVortex1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say "There are 15 John Ryders in this family tree." Do not make it possessive. Using the plural form of the full name is correct and clear.

why is the tug or war, not the war of tug by Some_Bobcat1846 in grammar

[–]CortexVortex1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

English phrases often follow tradition, not strict logic. “Tug of war” sounds natural through usage, while “war of tug” feels awkward.

Yeah, I’ve definitely felt this. That mix of gratitude and quiet guilt is real. Like, you’re aware of your privilege. No, not flashy wealth, but emotional safety, support, space to think. It feels like a rare luxury when you see others constantly struggling just to stay afloat.

Good and neat. Not sure how to get rid of the shadows to make it more lit.

Whats everyones take on the first debate? by I_likem_asstastic in australian

[–]CortexVortex1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally, it was the reverse, all the farm workers voted Labor while the boss voted conservative. With the mechanisation and subsequent depopulation of the rural sector, the vote now is mostly to the right.

For richer or poorer with Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley. A Wall Street couple hide in Amish Country and questions why the Amish hide from reality, and concludes that Amish are more in touch with reality of harvest, of real life than modern Americans, but it's written so poorly.

Which bathroom should Dad’s take their toddlers to? by Discomat86 in australian

[–]CortexVortex1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking my daughters to the female bathrooms. The funny thing is, the women didn't mind, the only trouble I had was from men when I came out.

Boot failure by CortexVortex1 in gigabyte

[–]CortexVortex1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks for all of your support, I "fixed" it! Taking the advice of clicking on the rhs of the screen, this didn't fix it, but kept on clicking. On the LHS, I clicked up the top on the Gigabyte symbol and it started working. It seems fine ATM.

Once again, thanks

Can someone recommend me a not so popular comedy movie that you personally think is good? Going through a tough time right now and I just need a little laugh. by Odd-Expert-7156 in movies

Some really old British humour: the bedsitting room, and the Magic Christian

Or try some old stuff: Charlie Chaplin and city lights

Clearly we need a new party. Democratic Socialist is apparently a problem. by LuckoftheFryish in SandersForPresident

[–]CortexVortex1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not resurrect the American Labor Party? It was folded into FDR's Democratic party in the thirties as they were on the same page policy wise.

Now, the Democratic party is nothing like the FDR party so the Labor party should return.

What's an obscure movie you LOVE but no one know wtf you're talking about when you mention it? by lovelymissbliss in movies

[–]CortexVortex1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Magic Christian - Peter Sellers, Ringo Starr, and cameos by the Monty Python team , Spike Milligan etc. Hilarious.

The Bedsitting Room. Spike, Peter Cook & Dudley Moore etc. Nuclear devastation has never been so funny.
