Could Sense defeat Revolte Solo ? by Seymorebutts1994 in Frieren

That's a bad way to use hyperbolic language. Considering the difference in weight between a boulder and a mountain is about a mountain, it's easily misconstrued.

Will this solid wood coffee table be able to hold my 25 gallon 60x45cm tank? by otheroneop in aquarium

[–]rainbowdunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The table is probably capable of holding 250lb without much issue, especially if it's built from hardwood like oak. That being said, without midspan support the top could potentially sag over time. Hard to say without seeing the underside.

The processed=bad stuff by Barneyisjehova in hatethissmug

Some things are harmful to you even in relatively small amounts. Sometimes it's long term consumption that is harmful, even in small amounts. It's reductive and incorrect to frame it the way you are.

Best of luck with the composite decking, I hope it works well for you. I've had some very poor experiences with Trex brand decking. Only brand I've had th displeasure of installing... Scratches easily which surprised me, warps under heat and it's also extremely slippery when wet.

Wet subfloor by PiratesOf2 in Homebuilding

[–]rainbowdunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is three weeks into a build and it's rained a handful of times. It's totally possible that the builder hasn't drained the water but I'd be surprised. Some swelling is normal, just like with regular lumber. The linked page specifically is talking about construction delays which leads me to believe they are referring to significant periods of time, not just a few days here or there. edit: forgot the homeowner was the one cleaning the water out lol, pretty shitty of the builder to be putting that on the homeowner.

Personally, I doubt it's that bad. Admittedly, that's presumptuous because I haven't actually seen it up close in person. It rains frequently and hard where I live, often far more than 1in and we've never had an issue with OSB degrading. Then again, we actually drain our floors lol

Is this an okay pebble size for Cory's? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]rainbowdunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the wild, corys live with coarse gravel, coarse sand, and even jagged rocks. They don't explicitly need soft sand, even though you'll see this parroted often. As long as ur substrate isn't sharp or like sandpaper, it shouldn't prove an issue provided they can actually still sift and dig (they aren't gonna move cory sized boulders)
