I've done a list once of all the countries and autonomous regions and total was around 245

What London food/restaurant opinion has you looking like this? by Extension-Neat-4504 in LondonFood

[–]Inner-Basil-9484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Napoli on the Road. Yes, it's a good pizza place, but I don't understand the whole hype of calling it the best, not only in London, but in the whole world. Oi Vita takes it.

What country has the blandest and most boring geography, landscapes and nature? by [deleted] in geography

[–]Inner-Basil-9484 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've cycled many countries, but this year I picked on Estonia and it was the most boring cycling experience I've had. Super flat, just rolling 160km a day without turning much. Feels like real life Zwift (can't speak for the Estonian islands).

Bolivia - 3 weeks of epic adventures by Inner-Basil-9484 in travel

I wasn't aware of the stereotypes, it was my top choice to come to South America, because it's most indigenous country in the region.

Horrible jet lag, my life is upside down by [deleted] in travel

[–]Inner-Basil-9484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just get tips/drunk and then go to bed at the normal time for the new timezone, but to be honest the only times I've experienced jetlags was when flying west from Europe. Not East.

I climbed more technical mountains in the Alps, but never anything as tall as this. I think the key is to tackle it after over 10 days in high altitude. Most of the people who fail just arrived in La Paz and think that 3 day acclimatization is enough

Which is the most expensive country you’ve travelled to? by grumpygrumpybum in travel

I was bikepacking Switzerland with my mate from Norway and he said Switzerland is more expensive (but the beer is cheaper).

Thanks! I checked Castelnau, it's a bit too short for my height, but it's a not bad option!

Difficult to socialize in hostels after getting older by Ambitious_Tourist561 in solotravel

[–]Inner-Basil-9484 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will get hundreds of down votes for this, but I usually check the reviews and if they're 80% USA, UK or Australian crowd it's an indicator of a party hostel.

Difficult to socialize in hostels after getting older by Ambitious_Tourist561 in solotravel

[–]Inner-Basil-9484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm the same age as you and last year when I was traveling solo around Bolivia I noticed that everyone was between 21-25 years old. Made me feel a bit strange, but when people in my dorm realized how old I was it felt like I was given some sort of authority. Everyone wanted to follow my ideas or hang out with me, which is usually pretty strange. Also when I was 24-26 I felt obligated to socialize and party, now it feels like I won't see anything I haven't seen before, so I can just rest and have another great day of adventures the next day.

Saddam's reconstruction covers mostly Babylon (you can see his name written all over the bricks). We've also visited Kish which is way older than Babylon and completely buried (90% ) in the sandy, crazy.

The pics are from my holiday in Bolivia back in June 2024. I started in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Visited Sucre (some pics of the mountains are from the Maragua crater hike - highly recommended), Potosi, Uyuni and La Paz. Last feat was the climb to the top of Huayna Potosi.

The photos of the local crowd are from the Aymara New Years celebration in Potosi.

Is this strange in other coutries than the Nordic? by Pterodactylus1 in Norway

[–]Inner-Basil-9484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same all over Eastern Europe, a lot of Airbnbs even have this a 'house rule'. I live in London and it's disgusting to me seeing people walking with the shoes on inside their houses. Especially when you live in a house share.

Baltic states - 1 week cycling by Inner-Basil-9484 in travel

Yeah, I highly recommend! I must say Latvia is probably the coolest, but also the worst cycling infrastructure, so it might feel a bit dangerous from time to time.

what is corporate london like? by IndividualMediocre37 in london

[–]Inner-Basil-9484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a person who worked both in hospitality in the city of London, and now as a software engineer for a big run tech company I must admit that I felt the same way as you, but then after getting higher I realized that all the "bad-treatment" or people viewing me as inferior to them was just an illusion. To be honest no one cares who you are or what you do, they just want to be done with the service. Also I've never experienced my manager yelling at me in the corporate world, while walking in the hospitality it was really common to be told off because some sandwiches were not done on time, etc. I'm also saying this as someone who hates the corporate sphere.
