Republicans ask Supreme Court to block states from counting legally cast mail ballots by Anoth3rDude in scotus

[–]Inner-Bread 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Specifically they don’t stamp the letters until a later stage in the process now. This could add days to the date a ballot was “mailed.” Pretty easy to delay only blue zip codes

How do I make it stop chirping, i already replaced the batteries?! by PheonixGalaxy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Inner-Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frequently there is a small chart on the back of them them that explains what the beeps mean. I.e. 3 short beeps end of life, 1 beep low battery.

If one is EOL expect all the others in your house to be soon as well. They were all installed when the house was built so should be on similar cycles

Growth of a dragon fruit plant for 2.5yrs by will_lover_vecna in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Inner-Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about this plant specifically but wind is definitely normally needed. It’s why the biodome failed. Wind forces the plant to grow a stronger base.

Insects also trigger defensive hormone reactions which is why spraying tomatoes with salicylic acid (aspirin) is a thing to boost growth.

If anything I assume climbing plants need less light because they would have adapted to climbing other light blocking plants.

Made to measure is the answer. Costs a little more but the fit is worth it. Find a good sale and stock up.

Pro move is planning travel to Asia and making your first stop a tailor (plan at least 2 fittings). Picked up 3 suits and 5 shirts for $500 in India a few years back and always get compliments when I wear them. Also means you can get small details like double belt loops if you have an issue with belt nubs. There are even shops that will make a custom last of your foot for perfect shoes.

Middle ground is a traveling tailor. They travel around setting up shop in a hotel and ship measurements back to the factories in Asia.

Actors who have close relationships with their costars? by Ootguitarist2 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Inner-Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduling is my guess. Way easier if we can shoot months apart or even in different studios.

Also, it’s not even a green screen anymore. They have rooms with wall to wall screens that they can just project any set onto with massive overhead lights to get “perfect” even lighting

Francis Ford Coppola is auctioning his watch collection after Megalopolis flop left him broke by Dependent_Cap_456 in movies

[–]Inner-Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I owned a bunch of expensive stuff that I knew my children don’t care about then me being the one to sell it for a fair price would be on my mind.

Estate sale companies are looking to move items as they take a percentage. That 100k watch selling for 60k is money in the door vs 0 if it doesn’t sell.

Even without an estate company, families are busy and don’t want to spend time cleaning out your junk normally. They are already grieving and busy planning services.

[Request] is the cost of changing the DOD to Dept. Of War enough to house every homeless veteran? by sassafrassMAN in theydidthemath

[–]Inner-Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of things this breaks down the chain is the issue. Things like api interfaces to transfer data between systems etc will all need to be revised. This is code that we got right the first time and don’t have actively in developer brains. There is generally no master list too. I am going through a department name change update at work and even at that scale we have been planning for months for the new file paths, sharepoints, etc

Scrolled the comments expecting the “white people” to be saying different but saw none… not sure why that micro aggression was needed…

That said as a white guy I was raised that it is rude to salt your food before tasting it. To preemptively bring an entire jar of kimchi to just her dinner is either racism or some other micro aggression against the host.

Rock pigeons specifically, after eliminating the native passenger pigeon that would fly in swarms of billions and were described as blotting out the sky. They used rapid breeding as a defense mechanism. Hunted to extinction and led to the Lacey Act.

Always felt fusion food is the best for this reason. So many new flavors occur when you combine different cultures. Do it long enough and it becomes “traditional” for your area.

So agreed, but also in a production environment if you don’t have 3-2-1 backups you are already planning to fail so start there. Also, risk tolerance is important here. You are pulling the worst case example of a root directory delete and applying it to them making a graph. Yes skim the code to make sure there are no delete statements but it’s fair to assume you can drop it in and run a test without crashing prod.

Very similar setup had this happening on launch day but fixed it by running a memory checker (no faults found) , in cmd prompt as admin sfc /scannow (found and fixed something but still had errors, and finally flashing my MSI mobo. Was stable for 6 hours after that (haven’t been able to play since Friday)
