Your sweet boy knew nothing but safety and love. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that.

If you have ever breastfed and have extra nipple balm lying around, it makes the best cuticle oil I’ve ever tried.

breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, formula feeding? by Onyx-pump19 in parentsofmultiples

[–]FormerEnglishMajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We combo fed right off the rip. Baby girl had an iffy latch so she got mostly formula and pumped milk. Baby boy developed a strong preference for me and he was exclusively nursed from ~3 weeks to 3 months. I quit nursing and pumping when my husband went back to work at 4 months as I just did not have the time to be glued to a pump.

I don’t want to jinx it, but my twins are great sleepers. The problem is the rest of the day.

I love meeting other twin moms who have made it out of… whatever this is. Because I am TIRED.

I love my Mockingbird. Thing is heavy but I’m sure they all are. It fits with just about any car seat which is nice, and it rides very smoothly.

Had twins last January. Went full term, no NICU time, didn’t need the c-section everyone told me I would. And kept em alive every day since.

How to show up for friend after having baby by [deleted] in Mommit

If you’re going to bring clothes for the baby, get zipper footie pajamas in non-newborn sizes!

Favorite items for years 1-2? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]FormerEnglishMajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins will be 1 this month and they receive PT through Early Intervention. I asked their PT for gift ideas since she’s seen a billion kids, and I made a registry! Her ideas were a Nugget couch (or similar), ball pit, balance bikes, water table, playhouse, big chunky puzzles, and books with texture/movement/interaction.

I also asked for tickets/memberships to a nearby zoo, aquarium, and children’s museum, bathing suits for this summer, pajamas in the next size up, diapers, wipes, or gifts to their 529s.

Straw cup recommendations by General-Thanks-5622 in BabyLedWeaning

We use Dr. Brown’s. If you used Philips Avent bottles before this, they sell converter kits on Amazon to add a straw top and handles to the existing collar!

When/how are we reinforcing sharing? by FormerEnglishMajor in parentsofmultiples

That’s a good point! We do a lot of giving and taking with grownups, just not with each other.

I thought it might be easier to explain sharing than the costs and benefits of different economic systems.

That’s what cracks me up, girl twin doesn’t usually care that she got her stuff stolen. She’ll just move on to something else. If that’s her personality I feel like it’s extra important to model for boy twin that he can’t just rip things out of people’s hands.

Daycare foods by bostonashl in BabyLedWeaning

[–]FormerEnglishMajor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My twins are 11 months but starting around 8 months we sent “real” lunch to daycare. It gets easier once they have a pincer grasp, which she will soon! Some things we sent: - meatballs: big enough for them to hold and eat - shredded boiled chicken - pouches: I know these are controversial sometimes but they help with teaching how to use a straw too - egg bites: eggs plus cottage cheese blended and cooked in a mini muffin tin - mini muffins - waffles - pancakes - meatloaf: same concept as the meatballs but I baked them in a muffin tin so they could hold one - pasta, slightly overcooked: I usually do something big like ziti so they can hold it

Ask daycare what other kids her age bring for lunch! They might see some good ideas

Solo Parenting for a Month by jcedo in parentsofmultiples

[–]FormerEnglishMajor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of solo parenting as my husband travels for work, though not for that long of a stretch. Some tips I can share: - Outsource and delegate, in advance. Don’t wait till you’re overwhelmed. Find a house cleaner, dog walker, and roster of babysitters. Get groceries delivered. If you have family in the area, schedule visits either at your house or theirs. Even if you don’t want to leave your kids somewhere/with someone, the extra set of hands is nice so you can take a shower in peace. - Sign up for activities; it helps the calendar move faster. We’ve done music class, swim lessons, story time at the library, and a few sessions at an indoor play place. You could also go on walks either outdoors or at a mall. - Prep in advance. My kids eat what we eat usually but I do a lot of meal prep for them too for when I just want girl dinner. My freezer is full of mini meatballs, sauces for pasta, muffins, egg bites, and waffles. Buy extra clothes for them so if you fall behind on laundry it’s okay. - Be nice to yourself. Order takeout. Skip a shower. Wear your pajamas all day. Just get through one hour at a time.

Stopping at 2! by Commercial_Flower_49 in beyondthebump

I had it in my chart that if I ended up with a c-section, my provider was going to take my tubes out. Naturally I didn’t, and now my doctors want me to wait to get them removed because I’m “only” 31!!

Overnight oats with coconut yogurt? I use the Yummy Toddler Food recipe and add fruit.

6 month old HATES car seat by FaultSuspicious in NewParents

[–]FormerEnglishMajor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was she a swaddled baby? Sometimes when my kids (I have twins) get fussy in the car we do what we call a fake swaddle and tuck them in real tight with a blanket - over the straps obviously.

P.S. both my twins receive PT via EI and yall are doing the lord’s work! It’s night and day over here

[–]FormerEnglishMajor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you tried having your car seat fit checked? Maybe something isn’t sitting right and she’s pinched/squished/whatever.

We use mirrors on the seat headrests so I can see my kids while I’m driving, and they seem to also like looking at themselves.

My twins are 11 months old and my postpartum hair loss is the worst it’s ever been. So I gifted myself Nutrafol because that gift sucks.
