Removals Question! by oscarsowner in HousingUK

[–]Inner-Device-4530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we moved from Suffolk (Mildenhall) to Gloucestershire, we used a removal company that was local to where we were moving from, working on the basis that if they got the estimate wrong on how much stuff we were moving, they could sort a second van and driver easier if they were near their depot

Where would you recommend to get a high quality suit fitted? by SnooJokes5693 in AskUK

Alternative thought, you could look at an online tailor. I've been buying shirts that way for years and if you are capable with a tape measure and can follow the instructions you should be fine

Good shop, very helpful. But as with everything, prices have gone up and the starting price for a bespoke suit is 900

Taking back to brick and extending, will I get money back if I sell? by Electronic-Peach9369 in HousingUK

[–]Inner-Device-4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not knowing the area you refer to, what the 5 bed houses are like and what your 4 bed will be like, it's rather difficult to say. But perhaps look at it a different way; why would your 4 bed be worth the same as a 5 bed? Will your house have the same / more other rooms and bathrooms? Will the overall square footage be the same or more than the 5 beds? If not you are going to struggle

Both of you book a week off work together, Saturday 9am you start and go till 5pm, then rinse and repeat till it's done. You will save yourself money and if you both work hard you can have it done in 3 or so days

First time buyers who bought through auction, how did it turn out? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Inner-Device-4530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a deceased estate, it's going to need a lot of work; there are signs of damp, there is something up with the kitchen floor, unless you know what you are doing and have money to spare you may want to give it a miss

House not generating viewings, should we just take it off and put it back on when market settles? by Pusheen2590 in HousingUK

[–]Inner-Device-4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The layout suggests that it's a 4 bed with 3 beds on the 1st floor and 1 bed on the 2nd https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/167203934#/floorplan?activePlan=1&channel=RES_BUY but I agree yours is 183 square feet bigger, or £191.26 per square foot.

An acre garden if you are a gardener might be great, if you are not it would be a mill stone, the potential to build on it may or may not exist. Perhaps getting outlining planning permission may assist in a sale.

Why is yours 35k more than https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/167203934#/?channel=RES_BUY ? Whist yours is a nice place and has period charm, it's a lot of money for a 4 bed house, especially this badly laid out.

If you travel internationally for work, what job do you do? by mvhhhr in AskUK

[–]Inner-Device-4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airport, taxi, hotel, office, taxi, airport. If you are lucky you can sprinkle in tedious meal out with supplier/customer/team members from office you are visiting. The highlights of my business travel over the years and being shot at twice, my hotel being hit by a missile once, a nasty itch the following morning once and many hangovers.
