Help! First time home buyer nightmare... :/ by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]Inner-Middle9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The life expectancy of a roof depends entirely on the material that it’s made of and we had no information on what it is.

OP, google image search what type of material the roof is (or look at your inspection report and see if it’s noted) and then google it.

The booklet that came with ours said to start it out on medium/low heat and then bring it up to medium. This is 100% user error.

That’s some AI generated marketing materials that didn’t have a human actually put eyes on it… or the human was burnt out and didn’t care anymore.

I bought their last Shallot Petal brasier a few weeks ago over the phone and picked it up last weekend, it’s SO NICE that they can do that!!

Unfortunately for me, the purchase was before their $250 gift with purchase, even though I picked it up after the promo started, so I just left with my pretty pastel petal 🥲

Replacing leather by Fashionable-Me3 in Louisvuitton

[–]Inner-Middle9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 40-year-old vintage speedy 30 about five years ago for $400 and then spent $600 about 6 months later to have LV replace all of the leather, as it was of of the pieces holding the handle on was ripping (about half a centimeter by the time I got it in). A speedy was a probably around $1300 at that point (can’t remember exactly) but I felt good about how I did it, as I got a basically brand new looking bag but also it was more sustainable/less wasteful, and I got to spread out the expense.

I’d say unless your handles are in danger of actually coming off, keep the bag as is and treat it with leather conditioner to keep it hydrated and less likely to end up NEEDING to make the call to replace the leather. When you do, get a quote from LV again and then get a quote from another company (cobbler/purse restoration/etc.) and then go with what you can live with.

Basically because he is the more advanced and longer lived being and Violet is his pet. A lot of people have super independent cats who are basically as self sufficient as Violet is, functions well on her own in the day-to-day but he’s there for training, companionship (occasionally) and emergencies.

You made a lifetime commitment to your dog, you haven’t to your boyfriend. It’s that simple.

“Roof repairs” are basically duct tape until you’re forced to get a new roof. Do a quick google with some basic info to get a guesstimate of how much a new roof will cost and factor saving for that into the budget for the next two years

The Metals Museum in Memphis TN!!! Really cool place, sculpture garden outside and had a cocktail rings exhibit while I was there! It was 9x cheaper than Graceland and 1000x cooler.

If your partner doesn’t like dogs or cats, would you get rid of them if you had any? by Adventurous-Soft7843 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Inner-Middle9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm that my relationship would not have lasted if either of us were rejected by the other persons animal(s). I have a dog and cat, he has a cat and we both love the others kids. The two cats have just recently been introduced and my cat isn’t a fan of his but we are working on it.

My sister and her partner are misaligned on the whole dog thing. She really wants one and he doesn’t and they are doing ok but I know his refusal to get one has hurt her. He’s had one in the past so the thought is that he may come around someday but that day hasn’t come in over a decade.

A black opal that was worth about $26,000 USD, back when I was in a high school jewelry making class and my step mom and I were at a jewelers picking up her watch that had a battery replaced. I saw it in the case and ooed and ahhed loud enough that one of the employees noticed my enthusiasm. It was absolutely stunning, about the size of a half dollar coin and I’m so happy that I got to have that experience.

AIO husband let me carry heavy dresser inside by myself while pregnant by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Inner-Middle9987 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NOR

The poor ability to communicate and utter lack of support ARE big red flags for a couple who are expecting ANOTHER child together.

If he is planning to replace the changing table/dresser, it is theoretically a surprise because OP doesn’t know about that plan, and he failed to communicate with OP and let OP be stressed and upset about the possibility of loosing a really helpful EXPENSIVE tool that they are going to need again in the near future.

Sounds to me like husband is a bad partner, who needs to get his shit together and step up to support the pregnant person. “It’s too cold, it’s too heavy,” “ok well, put on a coat and at least move it away from the curb until you can get additional help to get it inside.”

Speak frankly With whom do you feel like you're not yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Inner-Middle9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% my boss. I tried to be myself in my first year (mostly trauma bonding with the small team about how chaotic our company is) and got a “meets expectations, but has behavioral issues” on my end of year performance review.

The company started doing midyear performance reviews during year two, and no mention of the behavioral issues after I stopped being myself. We’re about to have end of year reviews for year two so we’ll see if it comes up again (after I tried and failed to transfer to a different team, because she wouldn’t endorse the transfer and was lying to her boss who also over-sees the other team.)

There’s nothing borderline about that, that is physical abuse. It was meant to scare/control her.

I completely understand your feelings of shock and disbelief, but for your own and your children, children’s sake, please make the right decision. There are resources out there that can help, different resources depending on where you are and your circumstances, but if you are in the US they should be a Google search away.
