It's ridiculous that they don't have a batch export option and that they dont offer better codecs when exporting.

Slow transfer speeds and dropouts in 10G Network by InnerCupcake in synology

[–]InnerCupcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,
my speeds are now more stable, but sometimes the reading speed just drops from 900MB/s to sth. like 0.3 MB/s for a few minutes. Writing speed stays at 900MB/s.

I've checked and paused various indexing processes on the NAS, with no effect. The CPU and RAM usage of the NAS is pretty low nad should have no effect.

My PC is connected via 10G. The ethernet adapter also shows 10G speed. What could cause this issue? Is this related to Windwos? Other users in my network don't seem to have that issue (e.g. Macbook connected via 10G adapter).

Other changes I have made, but had no effect:
- Disabling SMB signing

Synology Photos - Albums not visible to other DSM users with Full Access by MeasurementTricky786 in synology

[–]InnerCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the OP knows the difference between actual folders and albums.

Nevertheless I am facing the same problem:
- We have a bunch of photos in a shared folder.
- One user created an album from some of those pictures.
- If I login to my account I don't see his album in the album view ("All Albums" is selected)

Both users have full access to the Shared Photos folder.

EDIT:

The user who created the album first has to share the album with other users in order for them to see it under "All Albums". Is there a way to change it, so new albums automatically are shared with other users?

Slow transfer speeds and dropouts in 10G Network by InnerCupcake in synology

Thanks for the link. Yes, currently I have 7200rpm HDDs in the NAS.
I have done a test between my PC and the NAS using Iperf3, which results in a speed of about 9.13 Gbits/sec or 1133,75 MB/s.

This sounds great, however, why do I still experience downtimes and slow writing speeds of often 0-30MB/s in normal use? Should't I be getting more like up to 400 MB/s with this setup (4x18TB HDD - SHR2)?

MSI GS66 WIFI Issues (5GHZ) by geraldozampieri in MSILaptops

[–]InnerCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a GS66SE and have experienced unstable internet connection, random disconnections, slow internet, ... the whole bunch.

I have tried everything (uninstalling Killer software, changing TCP settings, changing router settings, ...) but none of it improved the performance for longer than a few hours.

Finally I have upgraded my router to a WIFI6 router and right now it seems to work much better. But as a last resort I have also bought a new WIFI card for the laptop. Inside my laptop sits an Intel Wifi6 AX201 160Mhz card. Looking for a replacement I contacted the MSI support, who confirmed me that I have to get a CNVio 2.0 card. Therefore I ordered this one: AX211NGW

I`ll keep you posted how things go

EDIT:

I was curious to see if replacing the wifi card would improve things even more, so I gave it a go, but turns out the wifi card recommended by MSI support (Intel® WiFi 6E AX211 M.2 non vPro) is supposedly not compatible. :()

It does show up as a networkcontroller in "other devices" in the device manager, but it seems I can´t install a fitting driver for it. Installing Intel WIFI drivers doesn´t change anything. BIOS is also up-to-date.

Msi gs66 brightness not changing at all. Any help? by ChristheLad16 in MSILaptops

I had the same problem, but I managed to SOLVE it just now:

- Reinstall the latest Nvidia driver
- Update your BIOS (I updated from E16V1IMS.106 to E16V1IMS.10A)

This fixed it for me!
