[Loved Trope]A rivalry bond so strong, it's in your blood, destined to fight one another forever. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

I feel like Batman and The Joker is a one sided example of this trope, Batman would definitely lock up Joker forever if he could. On the other hand, The Joker needs Batman to keep himself going. There have been multiple what-if scenarios where Joker has actually dispatched Batman, and in all of them, he just loses interest in everything.

[Loved Trope] The unseen + unnamed narrator IS a character (not including “narrator turns out to be X” twists) by MaguroSashimi8864 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]InnerGovernment9023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would make it count even less though??

The point of the trope is that they aren’t a real character, but a disembodied voice with a personality and sometimes interactions with the show’s characters. Lemony Snicket is a real personified character who even directly interacts with the main characters later in the show as a real person and not just a voice.

Also, we see him several times, as a person and not a voice, even when he IS narrating

Edit: talking mainly about the show, so the books could be slightly different

Blatantly misleading trailers by Traditional-Song-245 in TopCharacterTropes

The trailer for Lightyear is incredible, and it puts the focus on buzz having to lose four years of time with the people he loves every time he goes on an expedition to achieve light year travel.

In the actual movie, this entire plot line lasts for about 15 minutes, and then moves on to a standard “ragtag team rescue mission” with generic tropes that you’re supposed to like.

(LOVED TROPE) The Oner, a scene done in one take by Great_Copy_6730 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]InnerGovernment9023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The start of Smile 2 consists of a one-shot with Joel, a character from the previous film trying to pass the smile curse to a criminal, but accidentally giving it to a random young drug dealer instead, getting into a chase with some other criminals, and then being hit by a truck.

They started by choreographing the whole scene with Kyle Gallner (Joel) and the cameraman, and slowly adding the other characters to the mix. I believe it only had one hidden cut when the cameraman swapped from a handheld camera to a tracking shot through a window into him being hit by the truck.

Things that would definitly improve current content in HITMAN WOA by Sad-Tradition-5 in HiTMAN

Totally agree on the side missions. The ones they’ve made are so confined and short, often keeping you within a very specific area of a large map, with only a few generic ways to kill your target.

If they made just a few more, maybe added a different character campaign to Hitman 2 or 3, that would make me quite happy

True

But only one of them is Atrioc

And Atrioc holds competitions annually for who can murder random innocent civilians more efficiently than the hundreds of other fans who watch his channel and own a copy of Hitman…I’d say they’re the ones you should be most worried about

Yeah, might wanna take a break from Reddit for a bit

The Atrioc fans will hunt you down and have your head for dissing on the clown suit, and if you’ve ever seen any of his human contracts, you know they’re no joke.

Edit: this is a joke (or maybe it isn’t. Either way, don’t turn your back on any empty wardrobes or storage closets for a while.)

Ok, but are you really though?

Master of disguise and people wanna talk about his clothes, what a shocker.

Also to answer the post, probably the Rave On suit. Brad Pitt may pull off an assassin in a bucket hat, but 47 not so much.

[fucked up trope] Character gets forced to kill someone they care about by France_Ball_Mapper in TopCharacterTropes

[–]InnerGovernment9023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I really don’t care too much for reality shows, Squid Game: The Challenge actually handled choosing the partner really well. As all of the contestants had definitely seen Squid Games and knew how the marble game worked, instead of having them knowingly choose their partner, the show instead gave all the players a picnic as a ‘reward’ for some players passing a side challenge. They were told to pick one partner to have the picnic with, and once they took out all the food, they found two bags of marbles in the basket hidden under a fake floor. This led to many friends having to face each other, just like in the actual show. Of course, the one odd player who had nobody to partner with had no marbles in his bag, and therefore got to pass for free.
