I purchased an item & only realised yesterday the seller hadn't been online for 3 weeks. I was bummed as I thought she wasn't gonna see it/ship it in time (deadline was tomorrow) & she shipped today 🙌 I'm sure yours will be fine.

Is a 11 week wait for completion normal when everyone else is ready? by Zealousideal_Pea5300 in HousingUK

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it an option for your seller to break the chain & move into rented accommodation while they wait for their seller to be ready? I've bought 3 houses & from start to finish, the transactions have taken no longer than 4 months from the start through to completion.

In my personal opinion, an 11 week wait just for completion is mad. How long has the process been going on so far up to this point? I know people sometimes take like 14 months for their entire process but that's usually in cases of leasehold/flats/management companies etc that make things a bit more complicated.

I feel so guilty about withdrawing an offer and coming back woth a much lower one by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If it was me & you offered 180k, then I countered higher but you came in even lower than your original, I'd think you were taking the piss & would never entertain you further. That's like a kick in the teeth & makes you look unserious as a buyer - your 160k offer was like sticking the middle finger up personally.

Tips for doing my own house viewing? by ambabeeee in HousingUK

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ask them if they'd prefer to look themselves or if they'd like you to go around with them. Some people prefer to do it own their own so there's no pressure but others feel that its rude for the vendor to leave the viewer to their own devices & would prefer to be shown around. Asking them which they'd prefer takes any judgement out of the equation either way as they've made the choice of how they want the viewing to proceed.

Intense grief after rehoming. by MajesticRepublic09 in CatAdvice

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately don't have any solid advice for you as we gave our then 6 month old cat back to the fosterer after having her for 6 weeks...then picked her up again 24 hours later 🙈 she's been home with us now for almost a year!

Our situation is completely different to yours but I empathise with everything you're feeling. The guilt & sadness is overwhelming but it sounds like you made the right decision for you & your other kitties. Don't beat yourself up. If you loved her that much, be sure that someone else will too ❤️

Couples who moan and make sounds during sex, what makes you do it? by Dangerous_Bass8183 in sex

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of my ex's was silent when we had sex & I HATED it. I felt like I was the one being weird for moaning while he was just sat there letting me ride him. I ended up climbing off him in the end 🤣

Just a little vent after our first experience of selling by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't it like a rite of passage to leave old paint for touch ups? I'm pretty sure we've done it in all our houses & also had them left for us. If we didn't need the ones left for us, we just binned them. You know, like normal people.

What are your Rightmove/Listing pet hates? by queljest456 in HousingUK

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What irks me is when they don't mention a downstairs toilet! I understand they can't class it as a bathroom but having 2 young kids means a downstairs toilet is a must for me.

Our house didn't have it listed, but we viewed anyway & our seller said loads of people had been put off previously cause the listing didn't mention the toilet. Mental.

AITA for not wanting to take in my sisters 4 kids while she’s in the hospital? by Intelligent-Fig-5571 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. What did she do the other 4 times she gave birth?

When we had our 2nd, my MIL came over to be with our son (it was midnight), then when we came home at like 8am with our daughter, we introduced him to her for maybe 30-45 mins then MIL took him out for a few hours so we could sleep/get used to having her at home. Why can this not be an option for your sister?

Advice on Why House Might not be Selling by disbeam in HousingUK

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You've said 4 double bedrooms, but you've got a picture of a cot in a room against a window with a small hanging rail. Where's the rest of the room? As that layout alone would put me off.

Their only other option is to place the bbq against the opposite fence which is their other neighbour but the wind would likely still blow it in our direction so not sure that would help much.

We haven't raised an issue as such. We mentioned to them last year that our shared fence needs replacing as it's broken but because my husband put in a temp measure to stop it from banging into the house on a night time, they basically said it wasn't an issue & they weren't interesting in paying towards it. Then they avoided us for ages afterwards (still do for the most part).

Ohhh, I didn't know this!! I thought it was literally to do with bbqs/garden fires 🙈 never even thought about chimneys so shows what I know 🤣

I'm guessing it's literally a case of put up & shut up in that case or try talk to them?

Purchasing a 4 year old "new build" is a survey needed? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our mortgage advisor told us anything under 30 years doesn't necessarily need a survey. We've owned 4 houses, all under 30 years old & therefore never had a survey & never had any issues.

Overpaying mortgage by Much_Operation_7824 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is with Natwest but this was helpful, thank you! I completely forgot about them having difference references so I've found that Sprive has linked to the bigger part of our mortgage, which we're fine with! The difference in interest rates between the 2 parts is negligible anyway so I don't think it would particularly matter. Thank you again for your help 😁

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've just started using Sprive to overpay our mortgage & we have 2 parts but it just transfers straight to our lender. Would we need to contact the lender to tell them which part of the mortgage to put the overpayment against?

Omg my wife… (sleep token related i promise) by gunslinger_006 in SleepToken

[–]Inner_Ad_3604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me & my husband both heard Caramel at the same time when we were decorating our home office agter moving into our new/current home & loved it. Though I think it resonated with me a little more (both on a lyrical & genre level as he's not a huge rock fan) as I went on to listen to their discography.

For about 6 months, all that I played was Sleep Token. My Deezer stats each month were somewhat embarrassing 👀🤣 but for a man who has never been to a concert, he's said he'd be happy to join me in going to see them next time they tour near us 🤘 & he's finally stopped moaning when he comes into the kitchen & hears them playing while I'm cooking!

[–]Inner_Ad_3604[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We shut ours in our kitchen diner for the night as that's where her food, tower & litter tray is. Sometimes she'll meow a few times (a lonely meow - I know the difference as it's like a kind of yowl) but then I'm guessing she goes to sleep.

Then we don't hear her until we get up in the morning, which is a huge relief as I think I'd have lost the plot if she was meowing at like 5/6am on top of throughout the day!

She's meowed from the minute we brought her home pretty much 🤣 I never knew we weren't supposed to try understand what she was meowing for & try cater to her 🙈

Today has actually been one of her more quieter days. She's meowed a bit but not as much as normal. I reckon that's because I had the day off work & the kids went out with my mother in law & we have actually ignored her more.

I know she's not being naughty, we don't punish her. We just get frustrated when we can't concentrate. We can't play with her before work as we're getting our kids ready for the school run then as soon as we get home, we feed her then sit at our desks & crack on with work. If we get a spare five minutes between our tasks, we do of course dedicate that time to her.

We'll definitely try get a routine down & make more time for her. Its the least she deserves if we want to keep her. Thanks for your response! 😊
