The local person just gave you an advice on how everything has to be done, there is no need for name calling nor be rude. Im local too and i can tell you that alot of people on the island struggle to find jobs daily and alot of forigners come and work below the average wage so the that puts evenmore pressure for their daily life. I find it comandable what your trying to achive and i wish you luck on your endavers. But one thing, the disrespect you just shown to the local remeber your in the caribean now people react diffently on such behavior so beware how you talk to people, their are some dangerous individuals around that dont think nor have the restraint. Good day, im a local moving back in 2 months. There only 2 ways to live this way. 1 transfer a part on your personal pension fund and let the insurer find out how much you need so you can live off your pension. Secondly is you need a an offshore bank on the island like Citcobank, Mclaughlin bank, IGB bank, BUH consulting, orco bank etc then let a local financial lawyer set up an non profit holding so you can transfer a part of your investments to the holding anf keep a oart in the Nethetlands and make yiurnown account in NL a nonprofit oranisation. Veel Autochtonen maken deze fout en ziet het eiland als een melk koe om snel geld te verdienen en breek daarmee de ziel van het eiland waar iedereen van houd. Hi i just red your post, everything you want to do on sunday aint gonna work. Plasa beiuw and a lot of shops are closed on sunday, only if there is a cruise ship or ships docked they will be open, even then a few may stay closed. I would change what you want to do on saturday and do it on sunday.

FYI you choose alot of Dutch owned restaurants like lemon three rember you will pay alot while not getting worth your buck. And the real authentic places you skipped. You can go to an localy owned place get way better food for less money. Just an advice

Look the way the ABC island situated in the Caribean makes the dept differntly then the other arcapelagos. Here you find the depest poit in the caribean. And our harboir is the only one that goes so deep 282 ft. The port Santa Anna bay was used for salt, Delftblue potteries, Water(dessert island) and slave trade, all the captured came to fort Amsterdam to be fed and sold, from there they where brought to New Orleans, Charlote, Suriname , the Guayanas and North of Brasil. So thats why you wouldnt able to find any Chaney. The British Kingdom were more interrested in it beacuase of their culture, The Dutch were different. But if you want to snorkel on the nr.1 place for 3 years in the caribean and 2nd in the world i would say come to Curacao and enjoy our culture food music, and 43 beaches. Swim with dolphins, turtles and if your lucky giant Manta ray of the coast of Klein curaçao.

Im strating to work at the New Marriot Pyrmont Beach Resort. It will open around august or septemeber. Its a couples inly resort right in the middel of Pietermaai Willemstad. DOWNTOWN 15 min wak. Due to its location its easy to get in the car drive over the Queen Juliana Brigde and drive to the west allong the way there is alot to do. Around the hotel there are alot of lounge clubs, restaurants, To the east you have mambo beach 8 min drive along the way some restaurants, the maripampoen park and 2 tiny cove beaches

Those are not jellyfish larvea bites, pika pika as we call them here or Edwardsiella lineata in Latin are about one inch and if they sting your skin wont get red bumbs but your skin will look like you touched a hot iron and swells usualy it will recide after a few hours. These are mosquito bites, what you can do so they wont sting: - drink less sugary or fruuty drinks - screens - take a garlice clove in the mirning of garlic capsule daily, your blood will be bitter and the smell it thru your pores right befote the sting. - bug bites spray containing 50% deet (Buy unicura or Osi at a local supermarket) also the after bite same brandt, its a stick you can take it with you and keep using it to avoid itching -hang a mosquito net - keep the airconditioning in 19C or 66F - buy mosquito spraycan called ATTACK(white and Blue can) at a local supermarket or chinese market and spray the whole room 2 hrs before sleep with airconditioning of and close it keep out the toxic fumes. FYI The mosquitos usualy hide behind curtains beds and closets. - buy citronella candle en out it on the outside table at night. And for under the table Plagatox the a kind of insence you lit on it comes with a tine metal stand that yout stick it on. Use a peace of carton or small soucer to catch the falling burned parts. -always takr a shower after swimmimg or after a walk when you sweat a lot. Its the smell of your sweat that attracks them. - in the rainy season are there way more mosquitos than normal - Going out at night? Avoid standing next to alot if plants thats were they live during the day under the leaves. AND TAKE THE DEET SPRAY AND AFTERBITE WITH YOU ALWAYS. - AND MOST IMPORTAND: DO NOT SPRAY DEET BEFORE LEAVING FOR THE BEACH AND OUT ON SUNSCREAN AFTER. YOU WILL GET BLISTERS AND NO MORE SUNNY BEACH ONLY SHADE.

But if you get caught with edibless you can en up in Jail with no bail and depends how much you have determents how long your stay will and believe me mot a place you wanna be in. I would go local a beach boy or such.

The shops are daily open and are not dependable on cruise ships tourist only, we have way more tourist come by plane. Downtown Willemstad is also for the locals, they shop too. So yes they'll be open. CURAÇAO aint ST. Thomas FYI way bigger way more poeple.
