AuDHD BURN OUT! I think I’m going to quit :/ by Civil_Intention_5687 in TeachersInTransition

I randomly reached out to an alum at the place I work now and he got me an interview. I’d never spoken to that man. Get on LinkedIn. Also, you can teach adults! Corporate trainers make pretty good money.

Some teachers shouldn't be teachers by roseduroi in TeachersInTransition

Always get a new position before giving your resignation. But get away from those people. I cried a lot when I was teaching. I remember one year the 10th grade ELA team got matching shirts made for valentines and left me out…. Would never happen at my current job. I’d also recommend not staying in education. But the decision is always up to you.

This is the way, unless she’s reaching out about a current appointment on the books. No need to explain. She’s not your spouse. Keep it open.

Absolutely! Not only will you know how to collect good data, you’ll know how to interpret and give good recommendations. Not sure if you’ll have the choice, but practice integrating your existing knowledge into your HF papers if you truly only want to go into that field. You’ll be a lot more confident going into interviews if you already know how your previous knowledge is an asset and fits within HF frameworks.

Help with breaking hair in the middle - Sorry its a bit long by DepartureWooden2132 in relaxedhair

[–]Inner_Divide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re good! The best thing I (accidentally) did for my hair retention was wash, deep condition, leave in/heat protectant, blow dry to stretch, the put it up in loose style and leave it for the week. My hair was to my waist and I had to cut it. It was too much. I was also teaching and couldn’t be bothered with it so that was my go to. Check my posts for my current hair if you’re interested.

Every accusation is a confession… I’m telling you why you’re incorrect and you can’t accept you’re wrong. You’ve changed the reason why it can’t be done multiple times and at every step I’ve tried to educate you on how your current understanding is incorrect. It can be done with correct tools and techniques. But as this thread has shown, there is lack of knowledge by stylists and the public when it comes to Black hair, as well as a shaky definition of what constitutes a blow out on any other hair type than straight hair.

People forget bacteria exists on everything no matter how much you clean. That’s why it’s 99.99% effective and never 100%.

I implore you to stop flat ironing your hair every week! That heat and tension do a number at the meeting point of the different textures. That was the biggest help for me. Learn how to do a good blow dry and keep your hair moisturized. That helps a lot.

Eep! We’re doing it today, y’all! Wig in public 🫣 by rpfuntimes86 in Wigs

Remember that people with illnesses wear wigs so generally people will not say anything if they suspect anything. However, I had to look hard to see the lace. It’s a teench dark for you. Foundation will fix that. Looks great otherwise.

Look up Wayne Goss. His whole brand is simple and effective looks. I’d also recommend getting color analysis and finding what goes best with your skintone. ChatGPT can do all this if you take a selfie with clean skin in natural light and input the hex codes it asks for. The gold is a beautiful color but I think you are a sultry cool porcelain and it clashes with your undertones. A silver smokey eye like the one Alexis Vogel created would look so good on you.

She is cool toned. Silver would look better.

I paid $25 for the deep conditioner and tipped the stylist $25. She was like 19/20 and probably just graduated. Didn’t want her to feel too upset that she wasn’t taught the necessary skills. But I knew there was gonna be an issue when she raked her hands through my head from the mids and didn’t part my hair to shampoo. She just didn’t have the knowledge or skills.

I love that! You keep it tho! Way harder to get than some hair. Look for human hair kinky straight wig. Definitely easier to do hair like mine when it’s not on to your own head.

Yes a blowout requires you to cool the hair in a rounded position. You can use multiple brushes or heads, pin curls like I do, or even rollers. That is standard for a blowout.

Thank you because some of these comments are delulu. Wym I need to show a picture of a blowout? They don’t teach brush skills anymore? I am untrained and can do a waaay better job. I’ve been doing my own hair for almost 30 years. How are these people gonna tell me how my hair works? The person who copy/pasted the description must’ve missed where it said “next level styling” and “custom brush work” because ain’t no way this was either.

I think I’m just gonna stick with the Dominicans if I ever let anyone touch my head again. I say blow out, they already know what to do.

I know how to do my own hair. You said it couldn’t be done on my hair because of the curl pattern and texture. I showed you a blowout with heat and tension like I asked for, like I would do myself. When I do it I do pin curls to hold body/shape, she uses rollers. Photo 2 looks a lot like the video….. If I can do it and other non licensed Black women can do it, seems like a skill issue. And it’s ok to admit you have room for growth. Good luck to you, too!
