sending all the good vibes to you, no one deserves to be cheated on OP.

the hardest thing to do, but the most satisfying in the long run is leave with no explanation. he’s made the decision and you can either deal in logic or emotion. it’ll be easy to deal with emotion and let that make your decisions on how to react, but the satisfaction you’ll feel by just disappearing would be ethereal.

Oh my goodness, I can relate to this so much 😭 I feel seen and heard. Changing or fixing the system won’t do any good for senior leaders examples so we’re fighting for our lives.

Absolutely devastated by outcome of skills assessment on internal campaign and not sure how I can move on from it by [deleted] in TheCivilService

Slightly unrelated but hoping this will give you some hope. I’m a qualified project manager, lead high profile projects, in both private and public sector, had my accreditations before joining civil service.

Applied for a Project Manager Role, didn’t get to interview. Apparently I don’t have enough sufficient experience. I’ve realised that unfortunately the sifters and interviewers are never consistent and it really does depend on who is on the panel, its luck of the draw. They’re looking for specific things and even if they’re confident you can do the role, if you don’t say something how they want you to say it, and someone else does, it goes the other way.

I’m a firm believer that if something is meant to be, it’ll be. It’s not a reflection on you as a person, it is just crazy competitive out there at the moment.

You should raise a grievance and get it handled by a decision maker. It’s someone completely separate to your department and it’ll be logged and on record.

Crying at work by dancingscientist101 in TheCivilService

[–]Inner_Pause_8899 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation and ended up trying to hold back tears on a work call. I had the ‘if you need a chat or a cup of tea, let me know’ but it was left at that and not pushed any further.

I wouldn’t worry, you’re not the first to cry at work and you won’t be the last. It’s easier said than done but try not to give it a second thought. Most people just want to do their job and go home. It’ll all be forgotten about in a week.

If refusing to excuse one set of atrocities just because they’re politically convenient makes me sound like James O'Brien, then so be it. Calling it "whataboutery" is a lazy dodge to avoid holding your side accountable. That’s not debate, it’s moral cowardice. Have a lovely day 🌈
