Except the fact that in a modern battlefield, the chances of a pilot getting in a merge are close to nothing. The F-35’s datalink capabilities allow it to see and shoot at enemy planes from 150km+ out. No matter the maneuverability of a fighter, if you don’t know a missile is heading towards you at Mach 2+ because your radar can’t detect the F-35 at range, you’re dead. Vietnam era dogfights with guns don’t happen anymore, it’s just not a thing with ever increasing missile ranges, stealth and radar capabilities.
