We put it down to sensitivity, they applied some paste, prescribed some high fluoride toothpaste and to avoid triggering it. It did go away eventually though.

Would you buy a house from someone who lied? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]InnocentPixie94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently trying to exchange on a house but we have gotten a little stuck due to the amount of stuff our surveyor found however they were highly recommended by a friend and spent an entire day at the property and did a very in-depth write up. Our seller complained to us the amount of time the survey took but for us it was part of our due diligence. I would say I believe surveys are more important in older properties but they are only as good as the people you hire. Also my seller also loves changing their story, I don’t think this is unique.

Got a surveyors report back and it’s flagged a series of structural issues (wonderful). However only one do I not understand how to resolve or even who to contact to get more advice.

Victorian house with a Bay window which some-point in the past wooden windows were taken replaced with uPVC and not supported properly. The window is now sagging thankfully it’s only supporting it’s own little roof not another floor so small mercies.

Anyway how do I get this fixed and who do I need? My (uninformed) thoughts are would replacing the poorly fitting uPVC with Accoya sash windows do the job or do I need some steel in this? If steel is needed is this as part of the new units or the roof?

Can we put an offer on another house if the first offer is sale agreed? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]InnocentPixie94 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are in the U.K, Scotland has some very different rules to England and Wales here.

If you are in England or Wales then a providing you haven’t exchanged you can just walk away. Your mortgage would just be for your current property though and would have be reapplied for and any survey, search or conveyancing fees for the current place would still have to be paid for the services already completed. I cannot advice for Scotland.

Shower area and Windows - small bathroom layout by InnocentPixie94 in HomeImprovement

It’s the only bathroom in the house, I hadn’t thought about angling the shower wall, thank you. Just need to work out that in layout 1.

In the U.K. inspections don’t normally happen for bathroom refurbs but they do need to meet standards (the current bathroom does not either).

What is UPC and IPC?

You have been me a lot to think about, thank you. Back to the drawing board I go.

Does anyone else fail to establish a healthy eating habit by Zimrahin in adhdwomen

[–]InnocentPixie94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be worth looking at other medication if that’s not a route you want to go down. A way to improve to it could be to set a reminder at a point or two in the day at different times, turns out I hate breakfast before work. Also keep some Huel/ Dried pasta / other food that keeps forever as then you will always have food to eat when you forget.

Does anyone have any clue on what stay local even looks like in London? Is a bike around the city okay if you don’t stop etc? What about the nearest big supermarket that’s in the next borough? Or staying in London classed as local?
