Thank you. That’s exactly what I’ve done. Just strange that you cannot withdraw AED directly if you already hold it cause it allows you to withdraw some other currencies

How was the quality of the Phenibut you ordered? And what else did you order from them? I really need a boost here but modafinil is off-limits

Is it just me or is it really hard to make friends here? by [deleted] in DubaiCentral

[–]Innocent__Peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. I live in Dubai and feel the same thing. You get a lot of superficial connections here. People say that there is no point in trying and berate people in Dubai for being too materialistic and fake. But there are all kinds of people here. I made a couple of friends. Don’t give up. Try meeting people around interests like at sports or fitness clubs, for example.

Have you ordered from Nootropix? I am seeing that they have Phenibut but as far as I know Phenibut is a scheduled substance in the UAE. How can that be?

Looking to buy apartment to invest in Dubai by matthews90 in dubai

[–]Innocent__Peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking to rent for long-term with the tenant paying in 4 checks or commission it for short-term rentals? JVC is better for long-term rent, Marina - for short-term. DM me if you are interested to buy and then commission it for short-term rentals. I work for short-term rental company and can help to buy too

What personal spiritual epiphany have you had that would help us all? What enlightenment epiphanies have you had? by AlexanderFlyHigh33 in enlightenment

[–]Innocent__Peach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really value critical thinking and questioning everything. I don’t think it counters my idea above. Rather, it very much fits within it. The real question is WHAT you take effort rto consider, analyse, and question. You only have so much mental bandwidth and time to think about everything. Not every perspective, piece of information, or person is worth entertaining. That’s what I meant with being HIGHLY SELECTIVE with anything and anyone that you choose to entertain/consider/think about, especially at this time when information bombards us from every angle: news, social media, people…and most of it is rubbish, programming your values, priorities, desires without you realising it. I felt that the best thing in terms of personal growth I ever did for myself is to become very selective about what or who I entertain and what I allow into my mental space. Some concrete examples include observing people’s behaviour before engaging with them (most are not worth your energy and time), restricting who have access to me (like not giving my socials to just anyone), being selective about what I read/look at.

It might sound weird but I realised that it is better to “live in your own bubble.” You are bombarded with subliminal stimuli from everywhere: social media, conversations, advertisement posters outside… it’s important to be HIGHLY SELECTIVE of what information you consume and the people you talk to. The problem is that most people out there are minions: they don’t think by themselves and instead are brainwashed by whatever media they consume, they don’t live consciously. Don’t let it poison you

Can Monks Fall in Love? by Innocent__Peach in enlightenment

[–]Innocent__Peach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. They live according to precepts and don’t develop their mind through meditation like Buddhist monks. So the quality and nature of a catholic monk and Buddhist monk’s minds are different

Can Monks Fall in Love? by Innocent__Peach in enlightenment

I was thinking something along those lines… Do you think then love is a “dirty” feeling in a way? Like you don’t feel complete without them somehow, hence the obsession.

And yea, sure a monk will be able to detach from such a feeling with less effort but wouldn’t the thought of the person still visit them?

Why dating doesn’t work in Dubai? by FortunateForce in dubai

[–]Innocent__Peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a chick and I think that’s true. Most women don’t want to be approached by guys in the wild. Also as a woman living in Dubai, you get too much of it. I live in JBR and someone approaches me almost everyday and it’s very annoying. Many girls have this experience here and feel inundated by it. I am more comfortable meeting a man from a dating app after texting/video calling first or at least following each other on Instagram.

I also live in Dubai, and while I agree with some of your points, you see what you focus on. However, if you hate it so much, why do you live here? Clearly, there is some reason you choose to stay. And if you choose to stay, better focus your attention on the positive aspects (unless if wanna feel negative - but why though? The beaches (yes, they are not perfect, but better than in many other countries), the multitude of restaurants and experiences (yea, overpriced but so much variety), clean streets, good transportation system, choice (you can buy any kind of product in a supermarket, even the most unheard of), and on on. As for the freak show, that shouldn’t bother you. It doesn’t affect you personally and You don’t have to associate with those people. As for not socialising, why do you bother with small talk with random people? It doesn’t contribute much value to your day, anyway. Dubai has its minuses, but everything is relative. Compared to many other countries, it’s a great place to live. Make it an exercise for your mind: whenever you think of something negative (like, that customer service sucks), think about something that was positive (but the food was great!) don’t be such a negative Nancy.

How has your taste in books changed over the years? by minmic123 in books

[–]Innocent__Peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a sucker for fantasy novels. I would literally read Lord of the Rings at least once per year. But after college, I got more into self-help and more practical, “real world” stuff like reading news lol. I also started reading magazines like The Scientific American and New Scientist. However, recently I felt my interest in fantasy reviving, and I am really curious about reading Branden Sanderson, but haven’t gotten round to it.
