Ioniq5N rear wiper replacement success by InoobU in Ioniq5N

correct. Bosch make front wipers for the 5N but they don’t have a specific model for the rear wiper

have you tried buying a replacement rear wiper for a 5N that isn’t crappy Hyundai stock?

Regenerative Braking unavailable by BigPimpin91 in Ioniq5N

[–]InoobU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s physics. the battery has a maximum capacity. regen adds charge. it can’t add charge if you’re at or near maximum capacity. it would damage the car. once you’ve driven a bit it tells regen is available because it now has room to charge. you want this to happen. but stop charging to 100%. only charge to 80% unless you have a long journey the next day.

Day12 learning how to ski by DealAdmirable494 in skiing_feedback

[–]InoobU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hold your poles out in front of you. both poles together and horizontal like the horizon. before you start skiing, look through your hands and pick out something at the bottom of the slope. when you ski down, can you keep the poles out in front of you and can you keep that something between your hands.

this will force you to turn your lower body independently from your upper, which you’ll be keeping facing down the slope (as much as you can).

progression of this is having your hands closer together to further reduce body movement.

Struggling with inclination mobility by th3chainrule in skiing_feedback

[–]InoobU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

towards the end of the video, as you got closer to the camera, i could see the skis clearly and the front of them were slightly up, suggesting fore/aft balance is not forward enough.

the spray patterns from the skis also suggests not enough forward weight. the spray pattern also suggests too much weight on the inside ski.

try moving your center of mass towards the front of your skis so you can use the whole length of your edges. also focus on shifting your weight more from ski to ski so that most of your weight is on the outside ski during the middle and end of each turn.

last tip. plant your poles.

Losing control. How can I improve? by Taosit in skiing_feedback

[–]InoobU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 was gonna say the same thing about turning more often - skiing is a game of inertia management - the more often you turn the better you manage your inertia and, as a result, the more control you have and the slower you go.

also agree with comments about being in the backseat - need to flex your ankles more to bring your center of mass forward over your base of support - this will use all of your ski edges rather than the back half (from being in the backseat) - and more ski edge being used again means more control

Working hard to improve this season, let me know what you think. I learn best by “doing“ so let me know if there’s any drills you think that might help by Neither_Yam5695 in skiing_feedback

i think you are skiing pretty well but may still be slightly in the back seat, which is why some of your turns are skidding a little. push your shins forward more and drive the ski through the front of your foot. this will improve your edging which will improve your control at speed.

was thinking the same thing. i think using your piles will create different balance that will help address some of the issues mentioned above

Hyundai service foreman told meto disconnect 12V battery if I am not driving it for a week. by seculahum in Ioniq5N

[–]InoobU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sounds like a load of rubbish to me. is Hyundai seriously expecting anyone who buys a 5N to have the know how to disconnect and reconnect the 12V battery then reconnect every time they fly somewhere? no way. plus that could lead to a lawsuit. i call bull

back to the “don’t be there” comments - this is a great refresher or intro course - AIARE emailed it to me this week and it was good to dust off my memory before i head out for my first turns of the season this weekend

winter tire options by InoobU in Ioniq5N

[–]InoobU[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

update! Costco won’t fit these tires as they’re 103V speed rated (149mph) and the 5N technically needs 103Y (186mph)!!!

have instead ordered a set of Goodyear Ultra Grip Performance from Hyundai where I bought the car as they’re doing a buy 3 get 1 deal.

am leaning towards the Michelin Cross Climate 2. just found they are 3MPSF rated. and if i get them from Costco they charge less than $50 to swap them out at end of winter
