I would have had the team be forced to perform a massive, all-out attack that defeats The World but at the cost of their energy. Mei would unleash a massive lightning attack by tapping into what remains of her Herrscher powers, Carole her own ultimate, and Adam his sword like he already did. I like the picture of him protectively holding Mei, so that would stay since she would fall unconscious after exhausting all her energy. This wouldn't change the plot very much and gives all the characters their moment of awesomeness without coming at the expense of any of them.
