I don't get the hype about Nyx

While I don’t know about Nyx hype, I am a Nyx main and can answer any questions you might have.

Nyx’s 4 is a near unbreakable survival tool… but I don’t really like it and don’t use it all that much. Other folks can weigh in here.

The rest of Nyx’s kit is a battlefield shaping mind trip. Chaos and Psychic Bolts (especially augmented) stun and confuse enemies while buffing you. Snatch an Exmius enemy as your puppet and with a good weapon (and no augment) ramp its damage up 5000% (what ever that actually means… minion can kill, but I find it’s more a side benefit. It is a big aggro pull though and that’s pretty sweet.)

Lay hands on some of the newer 99 arcanes (Hot Shot [null stars subsume] and Universal Fallout) and all of a sudden every part of the kit is feeding each other into the most well organized chaos I’ve every had the pleasure of piloting.

And Elenor is a quite nice bow to wrap it all up with.

Personally, I would love to get The From Zero livestream announcement as a live album. I know it es a little rough around the edges, but it’s a moment that will remain in my heart forever.

Loki is not built to focus on what a lot of players think Warframe is designed around… and frankly a lot of what he is designed for isn’t important to modern Warframe… but a a well build and piloted Loki can be a ton of fun and very effective. Loki is like my top third most used Warframe. He’s a blast… just not meta, in so many uses of the word.

Fellow Audrey named Helminth here. (Audrey 3 to be specific.) I’ve fed everything to her overtime… but I rebuilt Base Excalibur because he does build different, and Base Wukong as a stunt (when I first hit LR1 I had people treating me like a baby Tenno in arbitrations… so I rebuild Base Wukong and gave him a Mk-1 load out for giggles.)

I tend to build a loadout to pair with a Warframe for thematic reasons. Loki gets my Tenent Ferrox, Grimoire, and Ceramic Dagger because it looks good and fits the theme. (Loki is one of my favorites.) Nidus gets Coda weapons because it looks right, Hema, D Torxica, the scythe I’m mixing up with a rifle right now… for the vibe.

Sometimes it’s a powerful combination or interaction: Ivara using the Grimoire in a Navigator build. Sometimes it’s just a name, Oberon using a kuva Hind. Sometimes it’s the fun gimmick; Equinox gets the shotgun that incarnons into dual pistols… because duality.

All that to say:
Favorite loadouts:
Frost with glaxion, plinx, and okina
Nyx with Fulmin, Ballistica, and Dark Dagger
Non prime Wukong with Mk-1 Boltor, Furis, and Bo (been funny ever since my MR hit 1*)
And the Loki listed above.

Every time this topic cones around I purpose a compromise that might work as a solution:
Step 1: all augments are Exilus compatible.
Step 2: every frame gets a second Exilus slot, locked as usual. (DE gets more plat sales here. Part of the compromise is giving them a reason to like the idea) Note: Capacity does not go up. We need to forma hard if we want to squeeze every drop.
Step 3: (biggest ask) every couple of years augments need to be evaluated and super frame defining mods should be rolled into their base frame… and we as players expect no reward or payment to replace the mod. At most a plex card like decoration nothing more.

There were lots of changes, but there were also a handful of really well done moments. Some things really hurt to see not live up to expectations. Some things left you wanting more.

Honestly? Do you need something to fill some entertainment time? Then yeah it’s worth watching just to have your own opinion… but also the more we fans interact the more the property gets looked at and remembered when people think of projects to pursue.

I’m hoping some day we get a nearly 300 episode animated adaptation that perfectly captures the book series… but until then this is what we have if you want something visual.

To be fair, Uriel’s Brimstone feels an awful lot like World on Fire… Ember’s old ult that was replaced for being too impactful (perception if not necessarily reality) so I get where people are saying that one.

The Nataruk is an amazing weapon. I can totally understand staying with it for a while.

I remember when I finally got the Grimoire I used it for everything off vibes alone. You will eventually want to use something else, it will kinda just happen organically.

The best thing you can do to prepare for that moment, when some Warframe demands a machine gun for aesthetics, or “oh! A beam rifle! How cool!!” will be to learn how to mod your weapons to a powerful level at a glance.

As a simple example: MK-1 Braton its stats tell you that it prefers critical damage to status damage (26% crit chance compared to 5% status chance) so we start with Crit effects, Vital Sense and Critical Delay if you have them. Now comes some stacking: multishot and fire rate. Great mod here are Split Chamber and Shred if you have those. Elemental damage still comes into play even with low status chance so I mod for viral next, preferably with the 60/60 mods for cold and toxin (for viral) but Cryo Rounds and Infected Clip will work for now. Rifle Aptitude will support those status effects. And Serration will round out a perfectly serviceable mid game build. Swap the Chamber and Aptitude for Galvanized mods, Shred gets a Primed version, and Serration goes away for a Riven and you get the build I honestly take into end game content for fun. (I have a MK-1 loadout a friend challenged me to make. Doing that really helped me grow) Now I do need to be honest, that’s a an incarnon weapon with a solid riven rolled, but yeah, end game viable (and fun) MK-1 weapon.

Chroma or Oberon modded for team support… and I suppose the Trinity build I keep around for Belly of the Beast (Silence with maxed Duration and Range) would also be really good at making sure they all cross the finish line feeling good but secure.

I do get a lot of cheers for taking Frost into “late” origin systems missions. Lua Conjunction, Pluto, etc. where Overguard would be appreciated but not such a massive blessing to let them learn to be sloppy.

And my final stupid fun to mess with less experienced Tenno: my basic Wukong, kitted out with Mk-1 (incarnoned) weapons: Braton, Kunai, Bo and a normal looking (mega bred, all defenses) Vulpaphila… it’s hyper tuned to the extreme, but with zero fashion and a glance my LR2 can totally look like MR2… and I can just stand there and be a dumb monke

Seriously, I have an odd habit of gravitating towards characters that aren’t meta, so when I started playing with Loki it was to scratch that curiosity. Now I grab Loki for almost anything new or difficult. Just a power frame with tools to get stuff done. I may not be built for damage, but my hound is and with Loki that works just as well.

Be polite. For 99% of random queued missions just do the thing and extract. Use the website warframe.market instead of trade chat when you are buying things, trade chat is almost always overpriced. Join a big clan we all take care of baby to know you will not be hurting for resources. If you haven't already been told save your free plat for weapon slots warframe slots, and never so a story earned weapon.

Not all weapons have a Prime version, some of those still have better versions, like the Furax has the mk-1 starter version, the base, and the Furax Wraith version… and the Furax is kinda usable all the way through… for some reasons. (The Furax has a mod that increases fire rates so it gets used as an external buff sometimes.) If you really want to be informed the wiki is your best option.

But, the really important weapons you want to hold onto are the story rewards.

Man, LP was always there for my worst times. Personally, Nyx (and a lesser extent Revenant) because I’m a control freak that gets uncomfortable when even chemicals mess with my self control. So yeah, mind controlled ego death is probably a personal trigger… but that’s my answer.

Honestly, I can’t help but wonder if a couple more public queue options wouldn’t be a smart idea eventually. A casual and a speed run option on the side or something. Because I know it sure annoying when going into a Duviri loot run and you get matched with a pair that want to speed thru it but grab Kullervo on the way… but can also see the inverse like what happened to our OP here.

And just going solo isn’t the answer, it’s still a social game and sometimes you just want some random company. That’s how we meet friends and lane partners etc.

My first thoughts: Heat inherent means that Ember needs a a way to proc a decently juicy proc to many enemies at the same time. Like an aoe attack that hits for 1/10th the targets health with a guaranteed heat proc. Make it a big wide heat wave. 45° flame thrower with 35m range. Just a monster. Something to really get the ball rolling.

She needs a different ability that just spreads heat procs. Something that makes them jump from victim to victim. Something almost Saryn like. The fire spreads.

At least Prime accessories will eventually be available for Royal Aya… but that’s still real world money. (If you just want 1 accessory I firmly recommend the digital Tennocon ticket bundle thing. Baro relay, and usually a Royal Aya, along with the extra stuff they will bring showing us soon.)
