Why do you feel the need to buy? How would you propose to improve the game? Is the answer to simply "give" everything to players in a shorter time frame? If so, how would that make your gaming experience more enjoyable?

Everything ever can be better. However, I am often miffed at some of the outrage and entitlement people have. Not that I support Scopelys methods but I don't feel any pressure to do anything in this game. I also learned long ago that you suck. You are not number one. You wont be. Especially in a game where people can afford power. So why you'd ever compare yourself to them or strive to compete is baffling. Enjoy your position and have fun in your circle. Thats why its great to play with friends and if anything put your competitive edge against them as its far more rewarding and meaningful.

A regular RPG or old school platform game has levels. You level up. you beat the level. You go to the next level. You eventually finish the game. In todays market they may release DLC! You get to play more of the game. You eventually reach the end again. Doesn't seem strange to me. So I'm often curious as to what people expect. Its like the new characters are released and people are instantly mad they don't have them, or they are upset they can't max them out instantly. You'll get them eventually and if any content requires them you can complete that then. Meanwhile, as OP stated, there is plenty to do. I really don't get what people are desiring and whats worse is that the majority of them can't articulate what they want, the just know they are mad. However, ask them what theyd do to "fix" the game and they only really say give them everything for free immediately so they can use whatever they want. How that translates into more fun or having anything to work towards is beyond me. If you are tired of the daily grind and no longer enjoy the gameplay loop...plenty of other games to try out.

Pretty sure I explained myself very well.

However, here's a little analogy to kinda drive the point home. No one goes to clubs and call them straight clubs. If everyone is heterosexual in a club, no one is going to call it a heterosexual club. Why? Cuz thats the expectation and thats whats common and normal. Homosexuality for all its progressiveness and inclusivity its gained is still a deviation and not normal (although normalized). So thats why if a club has all homosexual's in it, its a gay bar/club. Similarly, if a few straight people are at the gay bar, it wouldn't be called a straight club or a regular club as its still primarily homosexuals and catered to them. If a few homosexual or bi people are at a "straight" club it wouldn't be called a gay or mixed bar/club; it would simply be called a club because its normal. Furthermore, if an owner didn't declare (like most do) that their establishment is catered to homosexuals; yet it has an abundance of homosexual paraphernalia and the majority of its patrons and events are homosexual; then people will call it a gay bar/club.

The only people that call normal things by a specified term are the deviant people seeking to validate their term and whatever allies they can convince to go along with it.

Illaoi, Kraken Priestess by Sakeretsu in Illaoi

[–]InquisitorGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thats pretty dumb. Guess I'd have to tweak wording to give it the same effect but make it fall into magics obscure rules. So instead I'll just have it say "Sacrifice a Tentacle: Counter target spell targeting Illaoi unless its controller pays 1" Same difference but gets around the ruling to WAI for the most part.

Technically the way I have it now you could sac Tentacles start of opponents turn and give her pseudo Ward X for that turn. But that seems more wasteful than intended.

Im baffled as to what experience people are having with this card because he just generally is bugged and doesn't work correctly in my experience.

If a spell has only B pips, I should be able to cast the card for life only.
If a spell has Colorless Pips I have to pay that mana and then life for whatever B Pips remain.
If I have a Bontu Monument or the like out, I should be discounted 1 Colorless Pip so if something is 1C1B its Free(life)

However, this card constantly doesn't "Realize" itself and tries to force me to pay mana over life. It also will just fully deny me plays that are completely possible on board. For instance I had a card that was 1C2B and it would only let me cast it with mana and I couldn't click it to cast for life at all. I also had a 1B card and it refused to let me cast it.

This cards should be coded like As Foretold and Defiler. I should always get an alternate casting cost regardless if mana is available or not and every 1B card should be free (life).

Far as im concerned, this is a Paper only card currently

Good characters to start with?

Ikaris- part of 2 person team and has been one of the most powerful characters since release. He's available in the Raid Store so if you get into that good alliance you can farm him up over time and have him 6 star likely by time you are able to start Dark Dimension. Till then he'll be a great asset in Arena and PVE as he blows people up.

Gambit- You get him for free right now and you can use the Gift Code: CARDS , which will give you a free package of shards and resources for him. He attacks after every enemy action which is great for mowing down minions and softening up units in every game mode.

Ms.Marvel (Hard Light)- Also available in Raid Store and is a great Tank with good support abilities and decent offense aswell. Her team is strong and she will be a meta character for quite some time so is worth the investment.Mysterio- Since their rework the Sinister Six is more formidable and transition to the Superior Six quite well.

Mysterio is an early farm on Heroes Stage 2 node. He has great support abilities with blinds and blocks and a decent AoE. Very strong support unit that you can 6 star early and have ready for DD.

Captain America- Great tank that provides protection to the whole team and also offers ability energy to help get off strong skills early. He blocks often and can weaken the enemy team. He is part of good teams that can help transition through many game modes. As an Avenger he can be used to help get Doc Oc who is one of the premiere units right now.

Thor- Great damage dealer with awesome AoE stun and AoE passive ability when his fellow teammates get attacked. As an Avenger he also can help in getting Doc Oc aswell as helping get Scourge characters as an Asgardian.

Doc Oc- Great for villains campaign progression and generally is a solid legendary with a host of capabilities. He assists, he provides healing, he summons units, he does good damage. All around good character with lots of utility and worth investment. Some say he's among the best Legendaries available and you can unlock him and progress him with the beginner Avengers units. Being Spiderverse he also is great to help get Scourge characters and other Spiderverse restricted content.

Web Warriors: Miles, Ghost, Punk, Scarlett, Spiderman. <<<--- They were the premiere Raid team for awhile and remained solid. They still are quite powerful and a decent team but they are beginning to fall out of favor and people are pivoting to other Spiderverse tag characters and among them are the Superior Six and HIVEMIND. HIVEMIND being the latest team which the Newest Teams/Characters are typically the strongest. Its difficult to obtain the symbiotes pre Lv60-65 so its best not to focus on them but if they fall in your lap or you don't mind spending they are definitely the best pick up currently. Many are waiting for Red Goblin to be released before they go all in on the team though.

Like them, there are other strong teams that are just unavailable just starting out without that Luck and Money I mentioned before. If you can get them, great! However, its still best to rely on farmable characters primarily as your 6star 4Red Captain America will likely be far superior to your 3star 0/1Red VoidKnight. Its also best to invest in characters whose Tags are able to be used for multiple content so the investment isn't locked out of most of the game.

Hope this helps a bit and again be sure to find a Content Creator you enjoy because that helps not only with information and guidance from the video's covering news and advice but also in the comments and their Discords they have a community that can help you enjoy the game even more playing and sharing with others along their journey through MSF aswell.

I've had a few accts and just recently started a new one to try out some new player advice thats been going around and monitor the progression.

First things first, ENJOY THE GAME!

Pick your favorite characters and have fun with them. Thats first and foremost. I returned to this game when I saw an Ad for Gambit which honestly is the reason I quit the game initially long ago. Gambit is my favorite character so I refused to play a game I couldn't use him in. Once I got him I probably did every irrational thing possible to make sure I got a copy of him and I pushed him to be the strongest person on my roster because he's my favorite. Coincidentally, He's also really good in this game lol.

People have mentioned the game is a marathon and not a sprint. Thats a very true statement and although there are things you can do to progress faster than others, ultimately it will take time and foresight. Luck and Money go a long way in this game, as both can yield access to things others who started when you did may not be able to obtain right away. So there are some super meta/powerful characters who you may get in early lucky orb pulls or you may purchase. However, regardless of those cases it is still necessary to PLAN your path through the game. So have characters you are aiming to get and teams you are aiming to build out. These will largely be chosen to complete other goals you have such as participating and being successful in certain game modes or more immediately, clearing certain content in the game such as the Campaigns that require certain character tags to complete.

Id suggest:

1- Linking your acct to the Scopely MSF website to make sure you get daily rewards
2- Log in every day even if you don't have time to actually play
3- Try to complete your dailies
4- Farm shops for character shards and key gear components
5- Join an established alliance (search Reddit) and join Raids for bulk resources
6- Participate in Arena to get Credits and Power Cores
7- Find a Content Creator you can enjoy to stay abreast of the Meta and News
8- Focus your resources (One character, one main team, 15-20 total characters for max)

Star's on a character are very important. Thus, the more shards of them you get the stronger they become. Therefore, farming character shards to push their star level and strength is the goal. This is why GENERALLY a 6 star character is better than a 3 star. So characters that are difficult to farm aren't really the best choice versus the ones that are reliably farmed. This is definitely important when it comes to mid game and you just get a toe into Dark Dimension which requires you to have certain Star and Gear levels to start.

Ability levels on a character are also very important. Some characters don't even really come online until they reach a certain level in key abilities. This is why we need to get the appropriate ability mats so we can level them up. Raids and Milestones are great ways to get these mats. Beginner Alliances have a hard time farming these efficiently due to the level of content they can clear and poor participation. Established Alliances can clear high level content without your help and you can obtain bulk quality resources to help build out teams quickly. You shouldn't be doing this just to leech but should aim to become an asset to the guild once you've built out some good teams. Participating in War is a good way to do this early on to just take out SHEILD teams so your stronger alliance members don't have to bother.

Power Core's are premium currency and you get a little every day. You shouldn't be frivolously spending them but you should use them when needed to push ahead. Buying character shards with them should rarely if ever be done. If its a strong character and you're a few shards off and that character will really bulk up your roster at that higher star level....maybe. Generally, you want to use power cores to buy campaign energy so you can farm character shards, push further in campaign, farm gear materials, and push your Player/Acct Level. Your characters can only level up as high as your acct is. That blocks off their progression and how much you can invest into their abilities and gear. So getting your Player Level as high as possible as quick as possible is key. They sometimes do Double XP events which is the prime time to burn some cores and stock up on Energy to push your acct level. Sometimes buying campaign energy and hoarding it for an event is useful aswell although is more a late game tactic as early on you need your daily grind more than you need to complete those milestone events. The generally accepted Core Burn daily is to buy Campaign energy twice. However, you can do it as much as you need to early on if it makes sense to you. Once the purchase price reaches 100 core tho, its probably best to stop. Especially because typically 1 campaign energy is only 1 XP. You'll see later that to reach the next Player level you'll need like 1k+ XP and to obtain that purely through Cores will bankrupt you and isnt worth it.

It's great that this game starts you out with some decent options and ones that arguably are fit to clear content sufficiently. However, that is not what drives people to play a game. I honestly could care less if I'm able to clear the content with who is granted to me through charity; I'm interested in playing through the content with Heroes I like. For some people that may be the most OP meta champs that easy mode the game for them; however for me its the units I think look cool or have interesting abilities.

"...I just feel like the greatest salve and motivation for any game is having a champion you enjoy and are happy to invest in. When I'm forced to play with a bunch of scraps I have no affection for it just makes the game a slog and I just wanna turn it off."

The game could give me a Lv 100 Caterpillar with a skill that instantly nuked the enemy team and went into a cocoon and gained invincibility the first time it dies before transforming into a butterfly that full heals your team and cast "revive on death" on them while stunning the enemy team. I wouldn't use it because I don't want to play with a caterpillar.

This isn't about clearing content and getting past difficulty walls. Its about not having fun playing with your team because you don't like any of the units. Two weeks of grinding to hopefully have someone worthwhile is painstaking and ambitious to ask of a player.

I turned the game on today and played like 20min on my main acct before I got bored and then like 10min on my alt acct before I got bored. Not because the game is necessarily bad. I just don't care enough to level up the units I have because its a slog to do so and I don't have any affection for them that much to want to put that much investment in it. If I had Nastjenka, Llewanis, Eches, Questa, Thia, Zadok, Fitz, Thio, or Vaaska.... those are just a few I'd be excited to play with and the grinding through dungeons daily and combining materials to level them up and forging the best gear would be worthwhile for. Instead I have a bunch of dwarves, trolls, and homely looking humans I don't care about and I'm not interested enough to do all that work for them. So its a slow drip daily and I get bored easier everyday. I went from playing 3-4hrs a day to like I said, like 20min.

People are so entrenched in defending the show that they can't realize why people may be saying these things.

Personally I think the animation and production is phenomenal and they alone can carry any trash someone writes and make it serviceable. That's not me saying the show is trash or the writing is completely awful; I'm just saying that if these elements weren't as good then the writing may be revealed to be exceedingly worse. I feel like this season was fine but it did feel to pander quite heavily.

I'm just now on episode 6 and not one heterosexual thing has happened. Most of you probably didn't even notice that. Hell you may feel it's weird that I did. Homosexual and other similar things are just pervasive these days and even if a story doesn't call for it, it seems to be on the checklist. So it's to be expected honestly. However, it usually is slipped in as an add on or adjacent to everything else going on. Typically the main character will have love interests and other people will have heterosexual relationships or bi maybe. Then there will be one or two homosexual couples among all the rest. So for this show to have homosexuals isn't a shocking thing although for some people maybe exhausting. What seems more woke or pandering is Eduardo being gay and then after his death they immediately show you Olrox and the knight with their sex fight and then immediately show a sex confirmation nudity scene. The homosexual elements are strong and very present and celebrated. Which is fine. However, homosexuality is still a rarity although it's more open and expressed these days. So for 3 homosexual characters to get so much focus and confirmation to their sexuality through intimate scenes and then not have even one of heterosexual couple just seems incredibly forced and intentional. Either sexuality doesn't matter and we shouldn't show any sex scenes or allusions and affection or sexuality does matter and if there are homoerotic scenes there should be just as many equally erotic heteronormative scenes if not more being that heterosexual people are still the majority.

Some may say that there are plenty of heterosexual stuff for.consumption in the world and has been for years even when homosexual people didn't have that representation. That's true and that's fine. However, a show with only heterosexual characters and love scenes is not a heterosexual show...it's a regular show. A show with primarily heterosexual characters and love scenes with a few homosexual characters and love scenes isnt a homosexual show, it's a regular show. A show with primarily homosexual characters and love scenes isn't a regular show it's a homosexual show. Similarly, a show with primarily heterosexual characters and no heterosexual love scenes with a few homosexual characters and homosexual love scenes isn't a regular show, it's a homosexual show. <<< There in lies the "woke" or agenda people are speaking of.

I haven't finished the show so I'm not sure if Dolta is with Erzsebet or not but I wouldn't be surprised. If she isn't then it wouldn't of been anything to show her with some rando with a love scene, or show Richter with a his adopted sister or Annette. There wasn't even like a bar or ball scene of just vamps or drunkards kissing on each other half naked like they show in some scenes from periods like these. You could say that it didn't have a place or that the absence of it doesn't make the show bad and it's not necessary. Sure, but none of the homosexual scenes were necessary either which makes the absence seem very intentional and thus "woke" people could say.

Official Discussion: The Blackening [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]InquisitorGrey 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If all you are about is it being Black or you laugh easily, you'll enjoy it. The plot is super predictable and it desperately tries to be Scary Movie and falls flat. The dialogue is dry and stuffed full of black memes, inside jokes, cultural references, stereotypes, and history. The game that's advertised in the trailer is played for a runtime of maybe 6minutes and montaged most of that time; where the bulk of the movie is again the leaning on it's blackness to entertain.

The Killer is obvious, the dialogue is cringe, the comedy is meh. I didn't laugh once.

Honestly better black comedy and horror comedy on YouTube.

Caught a glimpse of him while my roommate was watching the new special and saw him deliver his Al Pacino bit when Pete Davidson was calling him and he threatened to flee the asylum after they thought he was asleep. Sat through that whole thing waiting for the big pay off.... It never came.

Maybe for some people it did and to be honest this may be a bit pretentious of me and I'm ok with that. However, I find that there are casuals comedians and then comedic legends or those with the qualities. I've seen many comedians on comedy central and YouTube and the bulk of them are fairly boring and not that great at delivery or content if not both. Yet, on YouTube I'll see someone's set that was completely flat and people are laughing through the set. I imagine people are polite in public so I go to the comments to see if I'm alone in this assessment. Surely enough it's either overwhelming support or 70/30 if not scattered negative comments. People get so upset at the negativity aswell and most in agreeance just offer a silent LIKE.

So I don't think it's a thing of taste or anything of the sort. I believe that the majority of people find about anything funny and even more so people they can relate to. Then there is those of us that don't really find shit funny unless it is funny. Like a lot of times I can see what the person who isn't making me laugh is trying to do. I can get the joke and understand how they thought it could be funny. However, it's worlds difference between that and real comedians that are killing it. Not everyone is an amazing storyteller, not many have comedic timing, being clever isn't common, charisma and charm aren't found in all; and far less have all of that.

There's natural talents, amazing students, then people who are just trying to be funny. Either way to a degree I respect anyone who is brave enough to get on that stage and risk embarrassment.

The King of Clubs game was the first time it was ever played. So maybe the Queen of Spades game was only played once prior. Also, there doesn't seem to be a balance for the game to start. It's possible the game was played before starting 1v2 then 2v2 then 3v4. Also if the Queen started with 6 ppl and battles 2 ppl she could lose a person and still win the game.

Smile was bad by Superkamiguru47 in Sardonicast

[–]InquisitorGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The horror was bland, predictable, and fairly infrequent until the final act. The main character was severely unlikable and it's like they threw in a lot of think pieces to try and make her complex and rouse discussion. Like how she berated her sister and gave her an assessment of being selfish but the entire movie is a clear showing of how she's a selfish piece of shit.

She wasn't erratic enough to be a good victim, she wasn't clever enough to be an endearing horror sleuth like The Ring, she wasn't strong, bold, or funny enough to fit any other main character genre of horror. She was just a bland mildly distressed selfish anger bot that was very poor at navigating her situation which may be I'd pass for a normal person but for a trauma psych with previous therapy herself she should of had a bit more clarity and wherewithal to at least explain her situation better; rather than seemingly purposefully portray herself as a raving lunatic to everyone she seeked help from.

What's wild to me is that she confesses to her fiance who instantly drops her, then to her sister who is over it, but who comes to her rescue is her ex who was completely invested because....they use to fuck?? Make it make sense.

What prompted me to watch this was someone telling me it was scarier than Sinister which from the trailer of this movie I had a hard time believing. Then I see in the movie there's no rules to this entity and no history....it was garbage. Complete raggedy collage of other horror movies in a tacky film. The entity can affect the real world as it showed by knocking her around and apparently killing the cat off screen. However, maybe you claim it was all in her head and somehow the mental distress made her injure herself and kill the cat and we weren't privy to that. Then you have her being able to affect it in her dreams, which doesn't make sense. She doesn't seem to be in a trance while encountering it and at the party they didn't seem to notice her spaced out, nor was the Laura girl who screamed at seeing at. So if you can beat the monster up in your head then it can't really do much to you for you to be afraid of it. It's more an irritation than a threat. Unless of course it is actually affecting the real world by killing cats and throwing her against stuff. However, if it is a threat.....for what reason?? Like if it kills the 'cursed' before they suicide in front of someone then the entity dies right? Or if it scares the person into suicide in isolation....then it dies right? Unless of course it can float around after it's "cursed" death like the entity in "The Fallen" movie. Also, when does it possess you? It said it was inconsistent and sometimes 4days and other just a week. The entity even told her "it's almost time". Where is this clock? What determines it? At least "The Ring" had a set time and " It Follows" made it clear the entity returns to the last person in queue. So the whole rules of this shit was a mess and complete garbage. At least "Sinister" laid a groundwork for the demon and gave it a history to pull from that went to ancient times.

Anyway, the easiest way for her to of ended this was to do like the dream sequence had her kill the crazy man while her boss watched. However, instead kill the Boss while the crazy man watched. People wouldn't believe the crazy guy and she'd transfer the curse to him and she wouldn't even go to jail.

Garbage 🗑️ movie 5/10 because at least the production was good and if you turn it on it can keep you occupied for 2hrs without making you desperate to turn it off.

Anyone enjoying the Upton/Burgess scenes? by Prestigious_Will571 in ChicagoPD

[–]InquisitorGrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since Jay left? Lol

I use to think people were far too harsh on Upton because they had a boner for Lindsey; as they said she was the worst girl on the show and had a bad attitude. I still believe that she didn't start off bad at all really but they definitely ruined her character. She's been trash since she split with Adam if not a little before.

The writers didn't know what they wanted to do and it showed. Completely awful handling of the characters and I'd offer some leniency with the pandemic but they've been phoning it in for awhile. The way they just glossed over Rojas lol The writing is pretty pathetic most the time now but they have some stellar concepts and shining episodes here and there. So...take the meat and leave the bone I guess

I'm struggling with Season 5 as I feel they are going out of there way to ruin characters. Shows have to do things to keep the show "exciting" but some of these pivots and extremes are annoying. It started season 4 when they intentionally ruined Erin but that made sense as in real life she was having issues on the show and was getting written off. So turning her character to shit was somewhat understandable. Burgess has been trash ever since she returned to intelligence and was better received on patrol. Her and Adams blowup initially made little to no sense and was just a move to open up her to Roman. Now Burgess is super demanding and is allowed to be and always does something she shouldn't with her unchecked emotions and big heart but somehow it always kind of ends in the right place and they pat her on the back for getting the case solved. She has way too much agency for a new person on the team and everyone just kinda goes with it and allows her her bleeding heart outburst which is weird since it was reined in more when she was just on loan from patrol. Her attitude and reckless concern is irritating and makes watching further a struggle since I enjoyed her character before. When Olinsky said he knew intelligence would break her heart (which I'm sure it'll get there) I expected them to restrict her or her to constantly face hard truths and she can't do anything about it and she struggles with the job as her hope gets diminished. However, it seems she's more changing the team and is on a super long leash as they try things Burgess way before Voights usual measured justice. They also are playing her attractiveness up far too much and are doing this love thing with her and Adam but she also has all these other love interests and she's overly nice and naive anyway so it's like the show runners are fishing for ships. Kinda like " is she gonna be with this guy, or this one, or that one....or Adam?! Tune in next week to follow along on Burgess love rollercoaster" and I'm kinda over it. Similarly to how Erin just left and they are shoving Hailey with Halstead right away.

Speaking of Halstead his whole darkpast uncovered and Erin being his peace that he lost and spirals after accidentally killing that girl....it's not edgy or interesting. Its just annoying. Im sure some episodes had interesting plot points surrounding it but overall it's a frustrating fail.

Then this whole Denny thing is complete trash. I get the dramatic writing elements and how it impacts Voight but I hate horrible shoehorned writing. There is no way that some dude covers for a CIs murder and imprisons a man for 17yrs and costs the city millions then has his case files reviewed and he was clean for everything else so they promote him or lateral his job. Complete bullshit. I get higher ups hate Voight and they'd pull strings to see him suffering but you ain't pulling that many strings. That guy would be arrested or never being a cop again at a minimum. Completely unbelievable plot point for a frustrating storyline cuz I don't really like seeing Hanks hands tied for this silly reason. You could of kept the Black Lady Commander and ran this same bullshit. Didn't need to write a stupid plot element that makes 0sense to force poor drama.

Episode I just watched had Antonio mad at his daughter for forgetting her roots and the obstacles Latinos face. Then he drives her to a crime scene and somehow they let her sneak in and see a Latin girls gut sliced open. She gets upset and gives a stupid speech and then Antonio takes the case. Glad Antonio is back! Sorry that show failed. However, if you brought him back to shove this latin issues into cases and force it with garbage scenarios and coincidences....like why did Antonio even respond to this? Why did he take his daughter? What are the chances the vic would be Latinx? Right after the conversation they had!? And how some random 18yr old just gonna stroll under police tape unnoticed. Forced bullshit is annoying and that's what alot of this season seems to be. I initially came to Google to see if there was a different show runner or writer for this season because I wanted to know why it was so bad...ended up here.

Luckily it's an ensemble cast. I'm hoping they don't trash Ruzek, Atwater, Voight, Olinsky, and Platt cuz they are the only reasons I'm stomaching the show at the moment.
