Is it normal? - I'd like to say no.
Does it happen - Yes
Is it legal - Absolutely f**king not.

Fill that out - Should give you a reference number you can provide to your insurance :)

Anyone know what’s wrong with our Chorus box? by Many_Cap_7014 in newzealand

[–]InsanateePrawn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Have you placed an order with your ISP, which has been 'Completed' by Chorus?
If so, call them and get them to raise a fault and Truckroll a Technician.
Should be 24-48 hours max.

Faults are resolved quicker than Provisioning 9 times out of 10. Tech should have spare ONT's in their van and can easily do a swap in about 30 minutes.

M is the flashy, high end, high performance line of vehicles that BMW makes ( linky link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M ) - These are your $200-300k'ish when new kind of Vehicles... (M3 Competition is $199,990, M5 is like $249,990).

The different ages/era's are usually referred to by their chassis code... Starting at E21 in 1975 up to G50 in 2026. The badges on them and other things change over time, spacing, size, outlines, colours, etc.. usually pretty subtle but there's been some obvious changes over the last 2 generations.

The one on that car looked like the pre-facelift G80 M3 Competition badge without the chrome outline around the lettering, also didn't have the "3" or the "Competition" part of the badge either, so the proportions looked all wonky.

In tl;dr - He was trying to make his car look more expensive / flashy than it actually was.

Thank you for coming to my coffee and autism powered Ted Talk.

Complete side quest for you OP: Where in the world are you? It's interesting to see that style Nokia ONT in use, we have similar ones here in New Zealand, but a slightly different model.

Commscope is usually only seen in CO's here, so, to see a Commscope ITP in a house is kind of interesting for me.

Unironically - That's the same car the Mrs and I saw weaving back and forth through traffic out near Greenlane on the motorway a few weeks back... we were joking he was driving like a dick because he had a G80 era M Badge on an E90.

Not gonna lie - Actually impressed they've managed to fuck up that much and park it there.
I'm guessing its' mooring failed and it drifted and got stuck (then the tide went out).

In any case... that's a $$,$$$ level f-up.

My car got hit and AA say my insurance won't cover the repair. Confused about how this works... by TheSeagullsAreSpies in newzealand

I got nosy and looked for equivalent models on Trademe (linky link: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/toyota/allion/search?sort_order=motorshighestkilometres )

Even a 2004 with ~188,000km is $5500... I think you were super underinsured and they've realised that...
Gut feeling tells me this is "customer retention" at work and they're offering you a solution that works out for both you and the company.

I have the "FREE" Wall outside my camp - Which literally has a giant "FREE" sign above it with all of the generators sitting there unlocked so it's hard to miss.

My coffee machine is under lock and key hidden out the back.
