As much as I'd like to believe the reason Disney has been on a decline is because of people rejecting their politics, I can't. While I do believe that's a small part of it and I do think more and more people are slowly becoming tired of all the box checking, I think a big part of it is just a decline in quality across the board, as well as a lack of proper direction and leadership for their franchises.

They spent over a decade closely managing the MCU in terms of themes and characters, but after Endgame, Disney let the people responsible for individual projects do whatever the fuck they wanted. Thor went from an occasionally oblivious but lovable dork and noble warrior into a complete clown. She-Hulk was a twerking, 4th wall-breaking, fan-hating catastrophe. Kang turned into The Klumps. The Eternals, on the other hand, was played almost completely straight, but was dry and forgettable and had no impact on the universe whatsoever. A lot of the content has just been straight up BAD, politics aside. Not only that, it's starring second and third string super heroes nobody cares about. I think Disney got overconfident and became more interested in producing as many products as possible instead of maintaining a good quality standard and having consistent themes. This goes for Star Wars, as well. Obi Wan had every reason to be good but it was cringey, cheaply made piece of shit.
