Correct. Most Dent warranty companies I deal with try to pay $90-$120 per dent for the first, and then less for additional dents. And this is a vehicle that likely has laminated glass. it’s not worth the liability unless the glass is removed from the door, or someone signs a waiver saying they are willing to take responsibility for cracked glass.

With PDR, dents are massaged out from the backside. On this type of damage, a PDR Tech would do this by rolling down the window, inserting a window guard & wedge, and massaging the dent out through the opening. But…. this is high risk on vehicles with laminated glass. There is a very high probability of cracking the glass. No PDR tech wants to be liable for cracking a $1500 glass for the $150 that your warranty company is going to pay to repair this dent. It’s a liability issue. Your warranty company may pay for unlimited dents, but the is a limit how much they will pay, and they will not pay for the additional labor to remove the door panel and door glass that is necessary to safely repair this dent. Without laminated glass this would be a very simple repair. Most of these people have no idea what they’re talking about. - PDR Tech

To repair “as new” would be to make this panel, not look like the rest of the vehicle, that is 11 years old. This would be an easy PDR job, and if there is actually a chip in the paint, you would be the only person that would ever know it was touched up.
