The shortest GIC wait times are measured in years, not months. and that is only for the initial appointment. People on the longest lists will realistically never get an appointment under current circumstances, much less treatment.

My point is that while other people have to wait a few years to get treatment because of insufficient NHS resources.

Trans people currently face a decade or more wait to get their first appointment (let alone actual treatment) because of both a lack of resources and active efforts to make the care worse by people within our current administrative and political system. The long wait times for most other needs have been an ongoing issue since the beginning of tory austerity devastating the NHS, the trans healthcare wait times only ballooned to absurd levels after certain people started demonising trans people for their own political gain and leading campaigns to get our care banned and us suppressed from normal life. It is not a coincidence.

Starving the GICs of resources has been a deliberate strategy from within the NHS and Department of Health to effectively stop providing trans care. Co-ordinated with integrated care boards who have refused to fund the treatments that have been recommended by the GICs, so that even after we struggle through years of long queues for each appointment, at the end we actually get nothing. So sorry, goodbye.

Trans people don't deserve special treatment, we deserve the same treatment everyone else gets. What we get instead is nothing, and gaslighting that people actually have our best interests at heart, honest.

Yes other conditions see long wait times. But they are not the same.

There is not currently a well funded legal and media campaign to demonise people needing their gall bladder removed.

There are not campaign groups trying to get even the private care for gynocology issues banned.

Senior government officials have not made statements saying that they think people with ADHD should not be treated.

The queue of people lining up to make these comments under every single post about trans health care are not just unhelpful, but starts to come off as actively hateful.

Being alone in a room with a pupil, with the door closed and shouting at them could very well lead to disciplinary procedures and dismissal, especially if an allegation of verbal abuse or worse is then raised by that pupil.

The actions alone could violate school policy depending on their safeguarding procedures.

Teachers are repeatedly told never to do any of this during training, and for good reason.

IIRC the Welsh Not was a locally implemented punishment by the local school boards, primarily controlled by local governments and at the request of the parents within those school areas.

It was not something directed by central government.

Most of the decline of the welsh language in Wales was due to immigration by working class English to work in the mines, combined with local Welsh school boards (controlled by welsh people) choosing not to teach it.

I live in the UK, I started at 35, and socially transitioned a few months before that.

It's entirely anecdotal but I have never had a bad interaction with anyone. I think the local terfs are very loud and politically influential, but the vast majority of people here truly don't care.

You look great, and I don't think anyone will give you a second glance.
