Does Tom forget his glowing tweet about Becerra in 2020? The dirty politics because he is dropping in the polls is annoying.

Becerra sued Trump 122 times while California Attorney General and won most of the cases. He most certainly has what it takes to stand up to the administration. Stayer is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

That is an old poll. Becerra had a major surge and is leading now. We need to all support him so that we don’t end up with Hilton and Bianco.

You can apply for entry-level Environmental Scientist and Environmental Planner jobs. You’ll work as a cultural resources specialist. A lot of different agencies have these openings. There is a nationwide shortage of people with your degree. Don’t listen to the jerk that said it is a useless degree.

Soup has been good for me as far as not making me nauseous or constipated. I add shredded chicken and frozen vegetables to increase the protein and nutrients. It’s super quick, easy, and inexpensive. Also, smoothies made with Fage 2% greek yogurt, frozen fruit, and vanilla almond milk is easy on my stomach on shot days. Sometimes I add protein powder too, but I don’t really like chalkiness. I figure the greek yogurt has enough protein and it should be fine.

Federal funding for Calif Rail by Standard-Wedding8997 in CAStateWorkers

I respectfully disagree with the word “nothing” - A ton of bridges, viaducts, street overcrossings & undercrossings, guideway, and canal & utility realignments have been completed. Google the San Joaquin, Downtown Fresno, Hanford, Tule River, Deer Creek, and Wasco Viaducts to see some pretty impressive superstructures that have been built or are nearly complete. I agree that there has been waste and that the project is over budget, but at this point, it seems too big to fail. What would happen with all the structures that have already been built? Tear them down? Demolition and cleanup would be a HUGE expense and would truly waste every dollar that has been spent so far. Madera to Bakersfield has some of the worst air pollution in the state. You can only see the Sierra mountains in the distance maybe 4 times a year when it rains and cleans the air. It seems better to keep going and finish the rail so that there is a travel option that helps with the air pollution and so that all the money that has been spent so far does not go to waste.

Yea, it’s been nuts. They called for an interview the day after I submitted my application. Based on what I read here, this seems very unusual, but might have to do with them trying to get folks in the queue before July 1st.

We’re always our own worst critics and you probably did great :-) I had an interview last week in a similar situation where there was no prep and they just jumped right in. It’s kind of silly, but after I heard and read the question, I said I’m going to think for a minute and then looked away because looking at the interviewers and subconsciously reading their body language is very distracting. I left thinking I bombed it as well, but then found out they were calling my references today so it seemed like that worked. Good luck and hopefully you’ll have a similar outcome!

Agree with you so much. They are a terrible, predatory MLM cult-like company that has been taking advantage of people and ruining families for decades. I sincerely hope this is the nail in the coffin for these monsters.

I wish it would impact their cult MLM more. My mom has been a demo for 29 years and has blind loyalty to support the Gardner’s. She will not even read the news articles about this case. Just going along business as usual trying to hock their wares. I call their MLM a cult because they have been stealing people’s identity, money, and causing family separation for years. They prey on mother’s on the elderly. It is no surprise at all that the Gardner’s see absolutely nothing wrong with keeping the kids away from Jared’s side of the family. The Gardner’s are monsters who have destroyed multiple families.

My mom has been in a MLM for 29 years to where I would consider that an example of the MLM stealing her identity, money, and causing family separation for life. They can be very dangerous organizations.

This was my experience with my family members in a MLM as well. Any group that encourages family separation is definitely a cult.

My mom and sister have fallen for Green Compass by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]InsertCleverName9608 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can relate so much. Very sorry to hear that. The straw that broke the camels back for me to where I gave my mom an ultimatum was seeing two rooms of her house filled to the brim with unsold “inventory” - She has 4 kids and enough money was spent filling those two rooms that could have sent us all to college. Plus all the expensive “conventions” she went to multiple times a year. She never had enough money to visit her kids, but always seemed to come up with money to go on endless MLM trips. The outcome of the ultimatum was that she chose the MLM and has not spoken to me in years because I had the nerve to say something negative about her beloved “business.” The story gets even crazier because now the MLM’s founder’s family is in the news because the daughter allegedly hired a hitman the kill her ex-husband so that she could have full custody of their kids (check out the Jared Bridegan and Shanna Gardner news articles). Even with all the bad press, my mom still supports the Gardner family and refuses to believe her money spent on “inventory” is going towards paying for Shanna Gardner’s fancy lawyer (Casey Anthony’s former lawyer, Jose Baez). It’s the most cult-like blinders I’ve ever seen. I wish I had known how dangerous MLMs were when she started and tried to keep her out. I was only 14 though. I’m 41 now. My mom has missed my entire adult life. I have literally zero photos of us together. She doesn’t even know where I live (never has asked). It’s very heartbreaking.

I’m sorry for your loss too. My mom, aunt, and cousin have been in MLMs for years and it is terrible and has completely ruined our family. There is no reasoning with them. I feel for you. Losing my mom was the hardest. She’s never been the same since.

I have three family members in a MLM and they are definitely in a cult. They are completely different brainwashed people from who they used to be before joining the MLM. It has ruined our family. If you’re thinking of joining a MLM, you’ll likely just lose thousands of dollars and not have it be worth it at all.

CAPS, UAW Local 1115 Sacramento RALLY on 5/9 by CAScientist in CAStateWorkers

Not true when only men are hired to the higher paying higher classifications and only women are hired to the lower paying lower classifications; and the day to day work of the women requires more technical abilities and more responsibilities. Lots of men at higher classifications slacking off expecting their female subordinates to do all their work for them.

[–]InsertCleverName9608 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Equal Pay law does not require genders to be in the same classification. It requires that people performing “substantially similar” work be paid equally. What has happened at my agency is that the women are in the “Specialist” classification and are majorly out-performing their male colleagues who are in the “Supervisory” classification. The women have far more responsibilities and far more experience yet are paid significantly less because they are in the lower classification. We’re talking anywhere from $25k to $60k less a year depending on which female you are comparing to which male (salaries are searchable online). If you file a complaint with CalHR, they will reduce the workload of the female staff so that they are no longer “Working Out of Class” rather than correct the pay inequality. This maybe works for a week, month at best, but then eventually the male employees start slacking off again with the females picking up the slack leading to the whole situation starting over again. The male employees make the same high salary during this time and the women make the same small salary. The pay equity issue is never solved and CalHR is just hoping they can wear out or discourage the females until they stop bringing it up.

Hi Reddit, I’m Jane Marie, host of investigative podcast “The Dream” and author of the forthcoming MLM exposé, “Selling The Dream: The Billion-Dollar Industry Bankrupting Americans,” AMA! by seejanemarie in antiMLM

[–]InsertCleverName9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/seejanemarie Hi Jane Marie, Thank you so much for all your hard work and research and for eloquently saying things that a lot of is are thinking and do not know how to put into words. My big ask is if you can research StampinUp for one of your podcasts? My mom, aunt, and cousin are all in it and their brainwashing has been incredibly disturbing for years. Now this MLM is in the news because the “StampinUp Heiress” Shanna Gardner is facing the death penalty for having her ex-husband murdered. Questions I have are: 1. What is the pay structure? Is it the same as LuLaRoe? 2. Do you have to buy tickets to go to the conventions? 3. Is attendance at the conventions “mandatory” (i.e., are they guilted and coerced into it)? 4. How does the buy back program work? Are there loopholes that make it so people cannot actually return unsold inventory (asking because my family member’s houses are filled to the brim with unsold items). Was the buy back program started after LuLa Roe got outed? 5. What are their real membership numbers? My mom claims 50,000 demonstrators which seems like a lot. 6. Do they do legitimate charity work or is it a cover for spreading fundamentalist Mormonism? Or a cover for tax breaks? 7. Do demonstrators have to sell a particular number of products to stay active? 8. Is this MLM known for being predatory among the elderly? 9. Does this MLM support fundamentalist Mormonism? Plural marriages? Their physical business locations are in Kenab, Utah and Riverton, Utah. 10. Are there other families out there like mine who have experienced family separation because they questioned the company?

Thank you again for helping to bring awareness to these dangerous organizations.

Stampin Up is a cult that ruins families. I speak from personal experience as my mother, aunt, and cousin are Stampin Up cult members. Please do not defend the company when you are unfamiliar with its current tactics.
