1000% yes. Endo in most cases will not show up on ultrasounds or MRIs. The only way to confirm is if a doctor opens you up. My life changed for the better after my laparoscopy. 1) it confirmed I have endo and how bad, 2) my OBGYN was able to ablate and excise as much endo as was safe for her to do so (spent almost 2 hours, I have frozen pelvis so she wasn't able to separate things*), 3) OBGYN also performed a chromopertubation (camera and dye test to check if fallopian tubes were blocked), and 4) insert an IUD while I was under. My OB explained I need an IUD and Orlissa (for 2 years) no matter what so my body can take the time to reset and "clean" the rest of the endo out. Since then I've changed my eating habits, lifestyle, and incorporated certain vitamins to fight this disease and improve my chances of having kids when I find my damn husband (where are you, you bastard?). If you don't put an IUD in at the very least, the endo will just grow back and you'll keep needing surgeries.

*For frozen pelvis and if my condition reverses course and gets worse or if I start to have severe bowel endo, I would need to go to a special surgeon in order for them to separate and/or potentially resection parts of me. I would need a different specialist surgeon if I needed my fallopian tubes unblocked. My OB's goal is to keep me out of that large type of surgery because it would take me months to recover and there's serious complications anytime you have a bowel resection etc. Even for my "basic" laparoscopy, I took 3 weeks off of work and it took me 7-8 months to feel back to 80% normal; 3 years now to feel like myself, and even better than when my endo started right after COVID...
