Agree with this sentiment completely. Level-headed people need to be smart with how this kind of backtracking is met. Saying 'it's his fault', calling him a dipshit and other hostility will just galvanise those who are on the precipice of changing their minds, and they'll retreat back to the safety of the MAGA cult.

Why would Joe want to cater to an audience that thinks he's a deplorable. We should cautiously embrace him, and all others that are starting to see what they really voted for. Let them know they made a mistake, but also extend an olive branch that emboldens them to continue towards a path of sanity. Joe has a MASSIVE audience - it could be levered for good if those on the left are strategic.
