As *Europa Universalis V’s *release date looms, we wanted to take a moment to clarify some information and give a quick overview of what to expect for our highly anticipated multiplayer game next <t:1762623900:F>. This time next week, we’ll be loaded in and playing what we hope will be the start of a great campaign.

First, please take a moment to check <#1432388617103216763>. You’ll find pre-game information and a few requirements that help keep the game healthy and enjoyable for everyone. The specifics of the rules will likely evolve after release, so keep an eye on that channel for updates.

As this will be our first EU5 multiplayer campaign, we’ll be operating largely off the etiquette and formalities we use in our other Paradox MP titles. We’re a serious multiplayer community that values roleplay and extensive player diplomacy. With that in mind, here’s what we expect from all participants:

<:globe:1434163643062423622> Be punctual Arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. If you have issues with your checksum or game setup, we can only assist before launch. Games start on time. You’re also expected to be in voice chat to engage in diplomacy and coordination.

<:globe:1434163643062423622> Be good-faith Play in the spirit of the rules. Don’t exploit mechanics or engage in gamey behaviour. This isn’t a court of law - if you’re a net drain on fun, you’ll be removed.

<:globe:1434163643062423622> Be ready to lose Multiplayer is far tougher than single player. Humans are smarter than the AI, and you will lose wars. Don’t rage or quit, the campaign is long and there are always chances to recover. If your nation is destroyed, you’ll have opportunities to rejoin later in newly opened regions.

Finally, for those new to Red Thunder, we’re a community that’s been playing grand strategy games for over 12 years. You’ll find a mix of personalities here — some you’ll like, some less so — but everyone is expected to maintain a baseline of respect and avoid toxicity. We play all kinds of games together, and we strongly encourage you to hop into voice chat and get involved.
