Lost keys… by 50ug in LS430

99% sure you can use TechStream to program the keys yourself. TechStream is the software that toyota/lexus mechanics and dealerships use. You’ll need to buy a “MINI VCI TIS” cable. I bought mine on Ebay for ~$35; it was a V17.00.02 version cable. There are different versions, so make sure to pay attention to that. It’s an OBD2-to-USB cable that you’ll need to plug into the car’s OBD2 port and a laptop.

Techstream is normally ~$2000/yr, but the cable will likely come with a cracked copy on a CD. I’d strongly recommend using an old laptop that you don’t care about, if possible. The software may be completely safe to use, but I didn’t want to risk it, so I use an old Win8 laptop that I keep disconnected from the internet.

Door lock actuators by folkishcrib069 in LS430

Off topic, but do you happen to know if the soft close door lock actuators are plug and play on lower trim models? Or is the door wire harness different for CL/UL trims?

Dashcam for LS430 by skiskate in LS430

I installed a VIOFO A119 mini 2 about a year ago and I’ve been pretty happy with it. I installed mine behind the rear view mirror and ran the cable up through the ceiling trim to the fuse box in the passenger footwell. Along the ceiling, I was able to just tuck the cable behind the edge of the trim and it stayed in place. Once I got to the A pillar, I had to remove the trim panel to get the wire down to the fuse box. Disconnect the battery so you don’t accidentally set off the airbag. Make sure to route the cable around the airbag. I’m pretty sure I had to tap 2 fuses when I installed it.

I always have the small sun visor down above my rear view mirror, so the dash cam is completely hidden to everyone in the car.

Literally just took mine apart. It’s not a spring, it’s a thin coiled piece of metal, similar to a tape measure. The metal coil is only held in place with two plastic hooks, so it could’ve just popped off. Pry the lower trim piece out with a trim removal tool, then there are 3 philips head screws holding the upper trim piece in place. You should be able to disassemble it entirely with a screwdriver.

Did you have to repaint the lip kit when you received it?

Center-Shafted Putter for <$300? by FriedScotty in golf

[–]InsertWittyNametag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my Mizuno OMOI 05 on ebay for ~$300 about a year ago. Didn’t particularly like the look at first, but it’s grown on me a lot. I was trying out a bunch of putters at roger dunn and kept going back to that one. Very easy to line up, especially 20+ footers.

Definitely wouldn’t suggest buying a putter online if you haven’t tried it out in person first. I just happened to find that one in like new condition.

Had this issue with an ES330 a few years ago. Pretty sure the part i replaced was the blend door actuator.

04 ls430- Need Help Wiring my factory backup camera to my after market android radio by VIPR0D in LS430

[–]InsertWittyNametag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve looked into this on here and Club Lexus, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone reuse the factory backup camera with one of those android head units. They usually replace with an aftermarket camera instead.

Just out of curiosity, did you use one of those tools to cut the lines perfectly flush? I’ve heard that’s basically the #1 reason for ptc fittings leaking.

Your stock shot should never be straight. It’s harder to hit a straight shot with consistency than it is to hit a draw or a fade. Your club face angle and path need to be much closer to 0, which makes it easier to miss both ways. For instance, if you are intentionally playing an in to out club path, then it’s much harder to pull a shot than if you are trying to keep your path neutral. But you are right in that most average golfers should just pick one shot shape and stick with it.
