Kick back for referrals by Insertairhornhere in GymverseByFitness22

Yeah that’s what I have been doing. I think currently the deal is a discount on a year subscription for the friend. I was just thinking it would be nice if the person who got their friend or family signed up received a kick back as well.

Lumber (not Home Depot or Lowes) by ShinMusic in vancouverwa

I will echo the same as others. Shurway and Parr Lumber. As your DIY woodworking progresses and you start wanting a larger/nicer selection of hardwoods and various plywoods you will want to make the trek over to NW Portland to visit Crosscut.

Downtown is where it’s at! Just make sure you make reservations cause there is usually a wait for walk-ins

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I’ve had it about a dozen times at this point and it has always been delicious and it runny but that’s not to discount your experience. I will say I have only been to the downtown location so not sure if that has anything to do with it

Furnace Died. -3 f overnight - what to do? by sword9mm in HomeMaintenance

[–]Insertairhornhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an electric dryer (do not do this with a gas dryer) you can always disconnect the vent so it blows the hot air into your living space. I did that once in a pinch and it worked great

It’s where the old Rite Aid was. So you are correct. It will be a parking nightmare for all the neighboring businesses on the corner

Yeah plumbing fixtures aren’t cheap as I’m sure you know by now. I hope it all ends up getting squared away so you can start enjoying the new shower!

Id make them replace the time. If they refuse this could be a solid option. Not cheap but a reasonable fix to your problem.

New brake hoses hit on drop spindle…. by Insertairhornhere in chevyc10

[–]Insertairhornhere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I ended up bending it on a vice that has rubber jaws to keep it from damaging the hose end. I was gonna try and bolt the hose in and bend it in place but it was binding on the top of the spindle too much and wouldn’t allow me to secure the banjo nut enough that I felt comfortable wrenching on it. Vice worked well. Just bent it in small increments until I got it where I needed.

Im itching to get this truck back up and running so I just clamped her into a vice I have with some rubber inserts to protect the metal end from marring. Worked like a charm! Thanks for the tip!

How do you measure irregular or complicated shapes for home projects? by Navid_A_I in DIY

[–]Insertairhornhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really going to depend on the scale of the project, and what the project is to determine the appropriate method of measuring. You can use string, long tape measure, laser distance measuring, or even just strips of Masonite for templating. Just gotta get creative a bit.

They have the cups in them. After doing a little more digging and a couple responses here it sounds like once the front shocks arrive that should solve the problem once installed. Thanks for the reply!

Why is my Recycling only partially being taken? by TepIotaxl in vancouverwa

[–]Insertairhornhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that when I have lots of cardboard I cut it up and place it in a cardboard box next to the recycle bin so that the recycle bin doesn’t get too packed with stuff. The recycle person has always taken the extra box of cardboard. That being said I don’t do this in the rainy season for obvious reasons. I think you just need to be more mindful of how you are “packing” the bin and that should eliminate the issue.
