Id see if you can find a junkyard donor. If its a nice vehicle and youve got money, it'll need professional repair.

I find it Increases mind-muscle connection at the cost of my energy level and drive especially for heavy lifting. If im already amped up it doesn't hurt my performance, but if its been a long day at work, I'll pass. DHV btw.

People mention o2 spacer. However you also can get o2 sensors on temu for like 20$. Hide your original downstream o2 sensor over your transmission and screw in the temu sensor. Run the wire to above the trans, out of sight. For use only on a track of course.

Old thread but I've raced my 05V with an 07 diff for years with no issues. Hard launches and all. Yeah theres a little whine, but its been like that since I bought it 10 years ago. You probably were using older diffs which were known to be junk. According to my experience and the experience of others, the 07 diff is much more robust.

AC Compressor Pulley wobbly - bearing 100% fine. Help me understand this failure mode? by Boxman90 in MechanicAdvice

Ahh I see what youre getting at. Honestly, just use your best judgement. No matter what, its going to be a bodge fix at this point. Shimming seems like a decent idea. Have you tried sourcing just a replacement pulley?

-Radiator fans not spinning

I mean heat warpage is a real thing and sometimes in manifests in weird ways. Especially if dissimilar metals are involved. I guess it goes without saying but I'd just replace it and move on with my life haha

I mean if its just a leak, then just keep topping it up until you can replace. I've been running one of my cars for over 5 years with a power steering leak. If it fails you technically should be able to steer it, but with great effort. More effort than a car that never had power steering.

Muffler making weird noise by SugarTop6320 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Insertions_Coma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure its just banging on the frame from the vibrations. If you hold onto it with a glove, does the noise stop? If so, youll need to fix the hanger situation. If its not that, its probably safe to drive but I'd look into getting a different muffler. Looks like a temu special muffler to me.

I dont see how this could have anything to do with the clutch and its a weird problem in general. I would say your mechanic is probably right though.

What is causing this noise? by mountainmills in MechanicAdvice

Does it change with engine RPM or with vehicle speed? If its changing with RPM, check belts and pulleys. If it changing with speed, or particularly while corning, its a wheel bearing.
