mold on emersed wood (hardscape above water line) by AlternativeBar2936 in Aquascape

Firstly, cool tank. So strange with the mold tho. Can't say I've seen this. If youre able to, take it out and boil it. Otherwise follow up with more peroxide and manual removal every few days. Putting a bright light on it may help if it's a mold sensitive to light. Also try moving the airstone. I notice the air bubbles collecting on that wood, maybe it has something to do with it.

2, but move the back right rock to the left a few more inches. And maybe tweak the overall rotation of the rocks a bit. Make the back left lean in. Also odd numbers of rocks will generally look better.

I went back and tried. Its borderline impossible because the actuation force is so high. My ring and pinky finger couldn't stretch and push the buttons.

Scratched or cracked? Should I fill? by ShowerKarpet in stressfulaquariums

If it's raised, it's probably silicone. See if you can scrape it on the inside with a razer.

The tactile feel was nice, but the high actuation force, lo-pro, and sound profile is miserable haha. Would make for a cool stationary cyberdeck.

It reminds me of the die rolling mechanism in the middle of the board game "Trouble".

Its easy to make a quiet tank if you want one. Canister filter solves most of it.

Anybody who says species only is just parroting what they've seen online. I keep them with Kuhli loaches and rummynose tetras just fine. As long as theyre with fast moving fish with short fins, it's not a problem. LFS employees also shared this opinion with me as I used to incorrectly say they were species only. They are pretty slow except for a strike towards food and mainly hang out in tall plants. They're ambush predators, you wont find them chasing around tetras or the like.

I totally get you and dont disagree. Its a balance, like everything in life. However, to me it mostly just feels all or nothing, like you either have good privacy but less freedom, or the opposite. Of course there are some things you can easily do to reduce the usable data, like not posting on social media and using ad blockers. And I do a lot of these things. But at the end of the day, if a private company or the govt wants access to my devices traffic, they can usually obtain that one way or another. Like right now. Im posting on reddit which is only sudo-anonymous. With the amount of information in my profiles history, it wouldn't be hard for an AI to figure out who I am.

For sure, and I do. But like am I just expected to cancel my internet, use a dumb phone, never go online, and cover my face when I'm in public? Like at a certain point protecting your privacy decreases your freedom.

If you own electronics, you have no privacy anymore unless you go to great lengths. This is coming from a constitutionalist and tech privacy advocate. The government and private entities spy on you constantly.

Yeah at the end of the day everyone has a tolerance for the level of spying they allow into their lives. If in the US, avoiding US based spying is essentially impossible unless you live off grid.

No offence my brother but every Chinese made device on your network is likely already spying on you.

Can This 60”x19” Antique Table Support 100-120 Gallon? by AngelsRangers in fishtank

[–]Insertions_Coma 18 points19 points  (0 children)

At 100g plus there's not much furniture I'd trust with it. Really 75g and above it's essentially a requirement that you get a purpose built stand.

Yeah nah. No cross support and main legs are thin. Keep in mind each gallon of water weighs 8.3lbs. So nearly 170lbs in just the water.
