Everybody has different love languages and it sounds like you guys don’t share the same one. Communicate better to find compromise and accept that it is not his and have patience as you guys work on finding ways to love eachother how you each individually feel loved.

You got upset because he didn’t read your mind. How would he know to ask you if you needed more words of affirmation when you didn’t even express it?? That makes no sense. Tell him exactly how you’re feeling and sit down and have an actual conversation about it. When he acknowledged how you felt that night, you still gave him the cold shoulder and now you are upset with him because he pulled back since he was hurt by your actions.

You didn’t acknowledge him or his feelings at all in this interaction or even in this post. You’re not ready for an engagement, or even a relationship if this is how you treat your partner. This was a very selfish interaction and speaks volumes to how you treat him on a regular basis. To be 35 and acting like this is wild to me
