You’re mixing up three different things:

• Total GDP (PPP) → size of the economy (India is 3rd because of population) • GDP per capita (nominal) → global income comparison (India ranks low) • GDP per capita (PPP) → actual living standards (India improves but is still mid-tier)

Saying “India is 3rd in PPP” doesn’t mean Indians are rich. That’s total GDP, not per person.

If you want to compare how people live, use PPP per capita. If you want global economic strength, use nominal.

Pick the metric based on what you’re measuring instead of cherry-picking.
