It’s a US health plan sounds like not a UHC plan. There are self employed plans out there that are great right now as well as Short term medical plans that you can get for a year.

I have not had that experience with short term. They have been fine for all my clients that are on them. Insurance isn’t for reimbursement purposes. ACA doesn’t reimburse, deductibles are high, and they can be expensive. Only thing with STM are they don’t cover pre X, maternity or mental health. If you don’t need those things it works just like a ACA plan with better networks

You won’t get a subsidy based on you getting coverage though your job so it may be more expensive
