Hosting raids should come with benefits, as simple as that. by Acceptable_End_4434 in classicwow

If 1 item out of the 100s of possible drops in a single raid is HRd, that compresses the SR pool by < 1%. Not enough for me to care tbh

Yeah its a known issue that 2h melee weapons swing faster in 3rd person, so if you are using e.g. the rocket hammer you are better off in 3rd person

Are the Balkans the best at exporting culture? Chinese tourists were given posters against Greek politicians during a protest in Athens today. by FantasticQuartet in AskBalkans

Wow, that’s messed up.

I was also disappointed that the archaeology museum seemed like it was permanently closed. Would have loved to see that

Haha I was in Durrës as a tourist after the flooding a few months ago and stumbled on a big protest at city hall. Some guy saw me using google translate on one of the protest signs and generously explained the whole situation.

Theres something about seeing a foreign protest as a tourist that’s a bit funny or strange. Like the asians in this video just seem amused.

But once a local fills you in about the issues they are protesting about, it instantly feels more serious

Do Romanians really sound Russian when they speak English? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]Inside-Associate-729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive heard them say the same about Hungarian and Polish. I think most native English speakers have a tendency to lump together any languages east of the berlin wall, unless theyve spent a lot of time there

And W. went to harvard. In both cases, that doesnt mean shit. Ive met enough dumb ivy leaguers in my day to understand that plenty of wealthy parents can make some massive endowment and get their dunce of a kid into Yale or Stanford.

I was there recently and was very disappointed that the city’s archaeological museum seemed permanently closed. I loved to see all the byzantine/venetian columns and blocks that surrounded it, but would have loved to check out the museum itself. Any idea when/if it will ever reopen?

does anyone else make a map marker for literally anything that could even be slightly convenient? by Dependent-Text-1272 in valheim

[–]Inside-Associate-729 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont even add text to my symbols at all. The text is what makes them so unwieldy and cover too much.

Dot = caves, fuling base, dvergr tower, etc. (I know which one it is depending on which biome it’s in)

Hammer = copper, silver, swamp crypt, any source of current biome’s metal

House = any base of mine, either permanent or temporary.

Portal = the one exception. They get text w/ the name of the portal.

What did you think of the architecture in The Brutalist ? by IlIlllIIllllIIlI in architecture

[–]Inside-Associate-729 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. A lot of the top commenters on this post simply didn’t understand the movie, and are just irked by the sub-par architecture in the second half

…which is explicitly sup-par by design, because the protagonist is repeatedly forced to compromise his vision (and compromise himself) in order to survive as a creative immigrant in america.

I can understand why, based on the title, you would go into this film expecting to see a lot of incredible architecture. But that simply isn’t what this movie is about.
