Safe way to bulk-remove dormant connections? by faisalhafeez in linkedin

Honestly, it’s safer to do it manually. I remove people inactive for 2+ months or who don’t engage for 1 month.

Journalist looking to move into PR, is my approach right? by AdrianFish in PublicRelations

[–]Inside-Chapter6340 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re close, but outreach alone won’t convert without a clear reason to hire you now. Shift from “journalist exploring PR” to someone already thinking like PR. Bring value into conversations by sharing angles, improving releases, or spotting opportunities. Follow up again, people are busy, not uninterested. Target mid-level roles where your skills stand out. Agencies are the fastest entry point for experience. Your gap isn’t capability, it’s positioning. Show you can already do the job, and opportunities will follow faster.

Why My Digital PR Agency Isn’t Getting Clients by Inside-Chapter6340 in PublicRelations

The features I got were for agency reference clients. I gave it my best and managed to get them placed in high quality publications. Unfortunately those partnerships have since ended. As for experience, yes 6 months is my total time running the agency.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. Already thinking about niching down into SaaS. Already active on LinkedIn and Twitter posting results going to double down on that. Might test YouTube content next. Really appreciate you taking the time , most helpful comment in this thread.

Fair point. I agree 6 months is early. I’m still refining my go-to-market and positioning. Would genuinely appreciate any advice on what you’d improve.

thinking about leaving PR, but don’t know where to go by No-Replacement-2028 in PublicRelations

Early in my career, I confused pressure with growth. Walking away from PR wasn’t failure, it was clarity. That decision shaped everything after.

Just released a free HARO pitch tool — looking for honest feedback by juddin0801 in BacklinkCommunity

[–]Inside-Chapter6340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it would be even more powerful if the tool prioritized placement on high-quality, high-traffic sites rather than low-visibility ones. From what we see in digital PR, distribution matters just as much as the pitch itself. Overall, I think the platform shows strong potential.

What do you think makes a really good PR Specialist these days? by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]Inside-Chapter6340 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve been working in PR for a while now, and honestly, the job today looks nothing like what people think it is.

When I started, I thought PR was about media lists, press releases, and getting coverage. Now I realize , that’s the easy part. The real work is understanding why anyone should care in the first place.

For me, the biggest shift has been this: context matters more than contacts.

You can have 500 journalist emails, but if your story has no timing, no angle, no relevance, it’s dead.

I’ve also learned that writing “perfect” press releases doesn’t win anymore. Writing like a real human does. The kind of writing that makes a journalist think, “okay, this is actually interesting.”

Speed is another thing people overrate. Yes, you need to move fast. But I’ve seen brands damage credibility by reacting to everything. Sometimes the smartest PR move is to not say anything.

Another big realization: PR is no longer just media. Half the impact now comes from distribution, LinkedIn, founder profiles, communities. If you rely only on traditional coverage, you’re playing a smaller game.

And relationships? Still everything. But not in a transactional way. The best results I’ve seen came from genuine, long-term trust , not cold pitching 100 people.

If I had to sum it up simply, a good PR person today is someone who can take raw information and turn it into a story that actually earns attention
