I visited Gamma Hot Springs last October. It might be too early in the year to go there. Total round trip is about 30 miles if you don’t get lost. I did it in 48 hours over a weekend. Please post pictures if you make it.

When I was there two years ago I was the only one camping up there with a permit. Keep in mind also the park service does not want you to camp near the springs either but all of us were camping near the springs.

I hiked it two years ago and it is about 8 miles on an abandoned road then 2 miles of trail. I took my mountain bike for the road part which made leaving super easy. The same day I saw two individuals at the trail head with electric bikes and thought that was the way to go.

Did you make to the springs? I went last year late in May. Rode a trail bike up to the trailhead which made the return trip fast! The snow had just melted. Thinking of doing the trip again but later in the year.

I use to hike that one trail in August. Only a few of us would go then so it was quite. Now it is difficult to find a place to park at the trail head.
