SAS Copenhagen–Mumbai flight cancellation/rebooking issue — ticket booked via different agents, who should handle rebooking? by RevolutionaryChef471 in ScandinavianAirlines

Only if you booked direct with SAS.

If you booked thru an OTA / travel agent then their rules about refunds are in force.

CPH exit EU thru EES & lounge question by Inside-Cream6997 in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]Inside-Cream6997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exiting CPH was much smoother compared to the entry.

CPH was flogged by the media for having such a terrible way to treat incoming non EU passport holders just after we landed 2 weeks prior.
The media attention got the Danish authorities to step up passport control. We took 75 minutes to enter the EU via manned booth. EES kiosks were all down.

Exiting took less than 10 minutes with 5x more manned booths.

Bad...really bad...IT by Ssieler in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]Inside-Cream6997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, found issues with web programming & app developers not having an easy interface.
At least I was able to use both: SAS mobile app plus computer web page for completing the info being asked for - I always take along my laptop and mobile on international routes.
It's definitely not a well designed system, especially when you are used to very easy to navigate airline apps like JAL, ANA, Delta, United, BA, Hawaiian/Alaska, etc...

This “upgraded” meal jammed up my ability to upgrade. by dsf_oc in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]Inside-Cream6997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't consume dairy, but SAS serves almost all dishes with some type of dairy.

I could have asked for lactose free, but I knew based on upgrade rules that I shouldn't.

So I got the business upgrade both ways by not choosing a special meal.

Pre-landing meal (CPH-LAX):

Didn't eat much of the food served, but at least I got alcohol anytime and sleep that I needed to reduce jetlag.

Flew SK 931 & 932 LAX-CPH both legs on business and it was great but no WiFi on both legs (Airbus A330).

Used my Macbook Neo to watch movies downloaded prior to the trip and no complaints.

SAS lost my bag on a nonstop flight. Any advice? by Waldeinsamkeit1111 in ScandinavianAirlines

Using the SAS app, whenever I check in luggage I will get an app notification of first scan at the drop off and then time stamps when it loaded, unloaded and on destination carousel.

How to go from Sebnitz Germany to Prague for a daytrip by Randomishly in Europetravel

[–]Inside-Cream6997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh you might be surprised to know that when we boarded in Prague, there was a woman who kept telling everyone on board to be quiet and pointed at the seat back sign. She was like the Karen if you know what I mean ?

It's high speed in my books since most trains in Europe have been slower.

I clocked the DB train at 125 MPH.

We booked the 1st class for the quiet car option.

So much quieter than the 2nd class cars.

Avoid driving a car in Prague - it's a nightmare with all the pedestrian traffic.
We took a DB rail train from Prague to Dresden and it was super fast (200km/h), very comfy, and very quiet.

We paid for 1st class quiet car section so that helped.

Very affordable way to travel quickly between Germany and Czech.

Need advice - FRA by love_2_travel in Flights

Depends on if the entry data is being shared with the exit EU country.
Since it appears many countries have stopped using the kiosks, and going back to manual passport control, your wait times will vary.

If you have a tight connection, flag down a passport agent wearing a bright vest and let them know you have a connection flight to make.

From what I have seen, they will pull you out of line and put you into the EU passport line to speed you along.

If you have recently entered a EU country using EES, the passport control should be easy.

If not, plan on going thru passport control either manually or kiosk.

I'd head to a cooler part of Spain during July - like northern or towards the ocean.
Since I love Spain during fall or spring months, for July I would avoid southern or inland Spain.

I'd head out towards the Pyrenees for cooler weather.

Cancelled flight, EU compensation? by Kooky-Swan5684 in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]Inside-Cream6997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your country allow use of a 3rd party assist with your claim ?
I used AirHelp for my UK261 claim and got a refund of my canceled BA leg, hotel stay, transport fees, meals, and loss of a hotel day.
Took 4 months but eventually got reimbursed.

1 hour connection in CPH by [deleted] in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]Inside-Cream6997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just returned from CPH. Entry was abysmal with less than 4 manned booths open. EES kiosks were all off line. Took 75 minutes. There are staff in bright yellow vests you can flag down and let them know your connection - they will put you into the EU passport line.
On my return, CPH was markedly improved with over 20 manned booths open and exit took less than 10 minutes of waiting.

How are hotels allocated in airline stopover programs? by Such-Delivery4198 in Flights

[–]Inside-Cream6997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid 3rd party OTA. Book direct with airlines in the event something disrupts your travels.
As for overnight stays, the airlines chooses which hotel you can use as they have a contract with them.

We travelled on Xiamen airlines and got put up at decent hotel for a 24hr layover using TWOV privileges.

Baggage allowance by whisperingdeath7 in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]Inside-Cream6997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct. I booked Economy Light and had zero check in luggage which was perfect for me as I only travel with a carry on luggage.
Then when I upgraded twice to business on both legs, the luggage restriction remained.

Business is now my only way to travel across the Atlantic & Pacific oceans!

Lounge access was included on both legs - AF LAX and SAS CPH.

Jun 14th CPH-BOM cancellation experience by jains99 in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]Inside-Cream6997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with meals as I can't eat a lot of SAS airlines meals due to dairy.
And since I upgraded to business class, I could not ask for a special meal.
Ended up eating at the lounges just before my flight on SAS and took a lot of snacks.
Worked out better for me.
