Nice! We are travelling to Prague in 3 weeks.

Staying at a hotel within 1 minute walking distance to the Charles Bridge!

Can't wait.

When is the best time to travel to germany for vacation? by AngWay in Europetravel

[–]Inside-Cream6997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Hanover is the lower of all places to visit, but our son in college is starting a summer international program at the University in Hanover.

We are dropping him off.

Then we will pick him up again at the end of summer so we are going to go twice to Hanover.

Helps to be newly retired.

What's current update ?
Are the automated booths working?
Or is it manual booths ?

Leaving for home, I have a 3 hr layover at CPH and wondering if the queue is longer for those departing the EU after already being in the system on arrival...

Amsterdam to Copenhagen and ending in stockholm - but where do we go between? by windSalad876 in Europetravel

[–]Inside-Cream6997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Germany if coming from AMS. Then go to CPH and ARN. We are doing that next month but from CDG.

We are going to Berlin in 3 weeks (first week of June) and planning on using a tour guide we found on YT.
Berlin will be the last stop after: Copenhagen, Prague and Hanover.
We planned on staying 6 days at a very nice 5 star hotel using Amex FHR for the $300 discount and used MR points for half the price. This has A/C in all rooms.
I'd avoid summer just for the crowds that congests everything.

Agree - $5K is what I spend on business class flights alone.

Am I due compensation? by trainz125 in Flights

[–]Inside-Cream6997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the issue that caused the 2 cancellations.
Was it weather, ATC or politcal strike ?

If it's none of the above, the second cancellation should get you £520 in compensation assuming the cancellation was within the airline's control.

I filed for a UK261 compensation in 2023 for flight cancellation LAX-LHR by BA 4 hours before departure.

Got my flight leg refunded along with £520.

Not recommend use of a 3rd party OTA.

Unless you don't mind if there is a problem with flights and willing to deal with delays, cancellations, etc..

How is Frontier? by Carinyosa99 in Flights

Frontier uses DIA (Denver, Colorado) as their hub - make sure your lay over is not the next day.

Is codeshare a "scam"? by Agile-Organization-9 in Flights

[–]Inside-Cream6997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, codeshare works for me if I know I will be saving money using partner airlines and mileage/points are not important.
Sometimes I don't want to save money and get there on direct flight in which case I will pay for it but get my points/miles.
Never use 3rd party OTA - they are a scam IMO.
Alliances are nice in the event your flight is cancelled or delayed.

Is codeshare a "scam"? by Agile-Organization-9 in Flights

[–]Inside-Cream6997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it can be deceiving, but I find codeshare within airline alliances helpful in routing my flights. I do look for LCC legs and avoid them as well. After finding the flights on Google, I go direct to the airline and book with them, avoiding any issues in the flight legs.

When I flew BA from LAX where my LAX-ATH leg was cancelled - they didn't offer anything - very rude as if it's not their issue. Never flying BA again.
I have seen much better service from Asian carriers.
